She passed away yesterday at the age of 85. She wrote my favorite series Dragon Riders of Pern. She published nearly 100 books, mainly fiction, beginning in 1967. Born in the United States, she emigrated to Ireland in 1970, where she lived in a home of her own design, "Dragonhold–Underhill".

Rest in Peace Anne. You provided countless hours of fantasy reading and daydreaming for me.

I've read several of her books as well, I'm very sad to hear she died. :(

Although I'll admit I could've sworn I heard she died several years ago. She was halfway through a series or something and her son finished it for her? I must be thinking of someone else.

Strange to think that I have been reading her books for so long that I remember waiting anxiously for the next Pern book.

I know that where she has gone, there will be dragons and singing crystals.

Her son Todd did co-author some of her books and the past few years he has taken over writing for the series. He is not as captivating a writer as Anne was but I still do enjoy his different views of Pern and his writing style.

Must be what I'm thinking of.

Oh I loved her Pern books when I was younger -- such a fantastic universe that she created.

Rest in Peace
