Sight problems or pain?

Bailey has been refusing the basement stairs lately. Most of the time it's at night which led me to think it was an eyesight problem, but it's not always at night, and there are nights she will use them. She had a clear CERF this summer.

She has a history of physical problems. It could certainly be that she's out of whack and needs to be adjusted (we've been on a maintenance schedule), or injured a muscle I didn't pick up on.

I think I'll take her to our rehab specialist first and see what she has to say but maybe I need to pursue the eyesight problem too.

I don't do any of that medical hullabaloo, but I will say that I hope you get it figured out soon!

Rosey won't do stairs as willingly anymore. She is nearly blind in one eye, and I think it throws off her depth perception to where she just can't see where the next step is. Same as jumping on the couch. She usually needs a running start to get all the way up the stairs, now.

A friends corgi was diagnosed as being near-sighted.

I'm still amazed the doctor figured that out...

Old age?
The last few months Kiba doesn't come downstairs with me EVERY time like she (and the rest) usually do. Check out fine, eating/playing fine. I think she just doesn't see the point and wants to stay in her comfy spot. LoL

No, she has fear/stress about them. Wants to but... doesn't. Or hurries down then which terrifies me.

I'm REALLY curious as to that was diagnosed. And I would guess a sight thing for Bailey too.

Jack is completely missing one eye and has compromised vision in his other eye. He has issues going up/down the stairs, jumping on my bed, jumping on the couch, etc at night or when its dark. He has no problems whatsover with playing fetch or manuevering around the furniture - but something about the up/down action messes with his depth perception.

I spoke with the ophthalmologist today and he suspects SARDs which terrifies me. My boss (not an ACVO) thinks that's unlikely. I wouldn't get out of the ophthalmologist office for under $200 (they want to do an ERG) to rule in/rule out SARDs and there is no cure for that.

STRESS!

Maybe we'll visit Dr. Julia first, she's cheaper!
