My Border Collie:

Conversation of the day:
Agility Judge: That 24" Border Collie's run was really nice
Steward: That's no Border Collie that's Mira the FLAT-COAT!

:rofl1:

I guess one black blur can look much like another haha

Judge was very nice though and flagged me down on the way to my car afterward to tell me what a really nice Flat-Coat Mira is and that she has a bright future ahead :)

Haha! When I was looking at the picture I thought the thread title was like a trick question, XD

Flat-Coats are nice, from what I've read, but I've yet to meet one in "real life".

LOL, that's too funny. Super nice of him to compliment her (and you!) like that though!

I think she was seeing more how she runs agility lol -- Mira beat all the BCs...closest dog any height was a 20" BC who was 9 second slower

Since there are many that have only one white area of very small patch of white, I see the mistake possible. :) Really if one does not know your dog.

Yeah the conversation was relayed to me, I didn't hear it directly, I can't say.

Well, you know that if a dog aces agility it HAS to be a BC ;)
Exactly.

Seriously, though, I could see how she would make that mistake. Flat coats aren't very common around here (I've never met one), and especially since she ran so well (retrievers are usually not as fast as herders), it's probably a better assumption that she would be a BC mix.

And congrats on the awesome runs!

She's just pretending to be a Flat Coat to lull everyone into a false sense of security. She shed that disguise today apparently.

Awesome job both of you guys!

I was really neither insulted nor glad of the Border Collie confusion, I just thought it was funny :)

Haha, the ears didn't give it away? Too funny.

That was very nice of him, though, to come afterwards and correct his mistake. :)

When ears are pinned back in aerodynamic fashion they all look much the same I suppose lol.
