He's adorable! Congrats! He sounds like the perfect puppy for you and Meg. She'll get a kick out of him. I love the name, Nigel and calling to him across the ring should be fine. You could drop the "e" and call out, "Nigl." LOL. I think Rush is cute too and appropriate for an agility dog. Good luck, have lots of fun and hope we see more photos. He's super cute.

Rigel is similar sounding to Nigel but can short a bit better to Ri (Rye). Rigel is a bright star - seems perfect for a future agility dog :)

Don't know how common Dante is in your area but I've always thought that was a good boy dog name. It shortens easily to Don.

Jacob is one I don't hear used much for dogs. Can shorten it to Jay.

I had a Stewart last year and it is almost impossible to not shorten the name to Stu or Stewie LOL

Oh, I like Rigel!

Or Sirius (the Dog Star).

It might be really easy to mis-hear that across an agility field, with dogs barking, etc. ;)

Throwing "Mitch" onto the name list.

That's how our Mick got his name. Going with our then beer theme for names, my husband came up with Michelob. His theory was, we would call him Mickey for short, and tell any little kids that were afraid of dogs it was like Mickey Mouse.

^^^haha, thats funny. I like the name Micky/Mick and it would really suit a black/white small dog (micky mouse is black/white and I guess small). ;)

Oh, if he does come home to stay, it won't be until Thursday. He came for a sleep over last night though, and was a superstar. I was fully under the impression that a 10 week old puppy was not capable of being even a bit house broken, but it turns out my friend wasn't kidding! He was great; slept from 10 pm until my alarm went off a few minutes before 6 without making a peep, went out to pee with Meg, and then I went upstairs to dress. I couldn't figure out why he kept coming into my room, making eye contact, and then going to the top of the stairs. Finally took him outside, and he immediately pooped. I was blown away!

And I'm pretty sure that he will be Stewart. Or Stuart. My mother wants Jake, but I like Stewart better.
