regarding choosing their next dog/breed?

I will decide that I don't want another corgi as my next dog because of x, y, and z. So I go and research other breeds and change the breed every few days to a week, then eventually filter back to another corgi.

And then for about a month or so I want another corgi and it's all I want and how could I have ever even *thought* about anything but another corgi as my next dog???

Then I get sick of the barking, the shedding, the reactivity and decide to look into other breeds (who usually have tails and legs!). Then Frodo is awesome for a while (and drivey and wicked smart and absolutely hilarious) and it's back to corgis.

over and over and over.

Am I the only one with this issue??

I. do. this. all. the. time.

I figure as long as I can move, I'll have a bully of some kind.
Probably an SBT next if I can get a well bred one.

Yes,

Ha ha but I am only saying that because I am not like that. I am sure when the time is right for you to get your new dog you will know exactly what breed you want.

Myself, I am pretty positive what my next breed I am going to get. Its just a waiting game until the time is right to get the pup.

I've really been craving a shaggy dog lately.
Like a messy-haired dog.
SCRUFFY DOG. THAT'S it.
Scruffy.

The dog from the Travelers insurance commercials? Oh be still my heart. He's so raggedy looking and so ADORABLE.

Good to know I am not the only one!

Poor Ryan, he has to listen to why ALL these breeds would be AWESOME for us and I make him look at all the breeders that I find and like, and then I change it on him :lol-sign:

Kind of... Except I see no faults with chihuahuas which makes me just want more of them.

It's going to be really hard to not want another border collie as well for our next bigger dog, too... Although I'm very interested in either a mudi or a toller.

I'm just super hooked on my breeds. Lol.

I do that, except the dog in question doesn't even live with me. I just remember what he was like as a pup and go 'really, I want to do that again?'

I LOOOOOOVE scruffy terriers. Ryan doesn't like scruffy or wire haired dogs and they are some of my favorites! :(
He also doesn't like "busy" colored dogs where the different colors merge. Doesn't like splotchy merle or brindle, but he does like defined merle (like SaraB's Zuma). I LOVE dogs without defined colors. I love patterns. He likes solids.

Nope! A Koolie, a Koolie and ummm a Koolie.

It's pretty much the only thing in my life I actually am definitive about.

Good luck though, I was at that point before I found what I wanted and it wasn't really fun

^I want that dog.
I want a Berger Picard for the same reason, I know nothing about the breed lol

Frodo was a holy terror when he was a puppy, but that was 5 and a half YEARS ago. I forget. Plus he was SOOO cute :p

No WAY. It's a BLAST thinking about possibly owning other breeds.
I doubt anyone is truly heartbroken over wanting to own another breed besides their typical breed. :D

We all dream because we don't always own ALLLL the breeds we'd like to. :D

The not being able to make a decision was what I didn't like. I didn't like not finding that one breed that fit me like a glove. I was looking for that click and I didn't like not feeling it with any breed.

Heartbroken? Nope. But I know I felt like I was missing that puzzle piece.

Now that I've got that it's fun thinking about breeds I might want to own someday.

I agree, I LOVE researching breeds, and even when I decide they aren't right for me, well I have learned something about them anyway!

Plus I won't have a 2nd dog for...a while. At the very least another year, so I have time :)

I go back to pit bulls.
Goofy, people-pleasing pit bulls.
I'd love to own a smaller dog one day, but I just don't know.
I always default back to pit bulls.
I just love them.

My parents keep talking about getting another Texas Lacy when Peco dies. I'm not convinced it's the best idea for them, so I keep reminding mom how bad he was as a puppy. He chewed on everything; books, walls, furniture, the pillars on the house, etc. Plus he was barky and nippy and he was always trying to get you to play with him. I swear that dog didn't learn to settle down until he was like 3.

I know all these things about Lacys, but know what I still really, really want? A Lacy. Sometimes I think I'm a sucker for punishment.

Kind of....because I always think about how a dog without DA tendencies would suit my lifestyle SOOOOO much better, but then I think of how it's really a small sacrifice to make to live with such an awesome pit bull....but then I go to some kind of wild, rowdy dog event and question that, and so on.

My list changes all the time. Luckily (or not so :( ) I have at least 5 years before I get to have a dog of my very own, unless I get lucky, so I've decided to not get my hopes up. But,as of now, I'm almost 100% certain that my next dog will be a Koolie. Preferably related to Traveler, because he sounds perfect to me.

I'll need a lot of time though to keep up with one, and experience most likely. My next two breeds that I'm waffling on are the English Shepherd and the Flat Coat Retriever

I do think about how I'd like to experience different breeds alot. Though, I too, like others have a breed I always go back to, which would be the Australian Shepherd.
