Bedlingtons (!!) and Jacks.

SBT and APBT.

Now if only I could find a Bedlington breeder that I could fall in love with who lives in the midwest. All the good ones are on the east coast!

I love my coated American Hairless Terriers (Rat Terriers), but have a soft spot for Patterdales, as well as working bred Border and Lakeland Terriers.

And of course, Boom, but EVERYONE loves him, don't they? You don't even have to like terriers, much less dogs, to find him adorable. :)

A good old school AmStaf. I'm rather partial to mine. This is Grant in his prime...

He was a very intense hunter as a young dog, and would still love to catch some birds and varmints if given the chance.

I think Border Terriers are such interesting, adorable, athletic little dogs. I could also see myself owning a Westie. I admire Airdales, SBT's, and wired haired Fox Terriers, though I am not sure they would suit me as well.

Bedlingtons are way up there on my list.

I also met what might be the most awesome dog ever in the form of a norfolk, but I don't know if that's typical of the breed.

Living with hounds, I'm not entirely sure I'm the best owner for a terrier...

that being said, I love love love loved my foster pittie, and if she'd gotten along with the hound girls she'd have never left.

I love Patterdales, but am not sure I could keep up with one.

I've ALWAYS wanted a Kerry Blue <3

While I love pitties, I love them a lot more when they are owned by someone else!

I like Cairn's, but after fostering Jenna, I've pretty much concluded that terriers in general are a poor choice for me.

I love pits and staffs, but I just do NOT see them as terriers!! So they win, but they're not in that category as far as I'm concerned. Prob say parson jrt if I'm picking on actual terrier-ness lol..
What makes you say they aren't terriers? They have TERRIER in their name so there fore they are TERRIERS. ;)

APBTs and SBTs. Though, I cannot really say SBTs as I've never met one in person (DYING to, though).

APBTs sure ARE terriers. They ACT like terriers. All three I've owned have been very much terrier to some degree in behavior.

Some would maintain that it's not a "real terrier" unless the breed at some point was rumored to go to ground. The more hardlined would exclude animals who haven't the ability to fit down a stovepipe no matter what their ancestry.

Oh. Well, folks are always entitled to their opinions, but as long as I've owned the three I have, I'll swear they are part terrier.

I've seen a lot of Terriers who fit the stovepipe criteria . . . and that's the ONLY way they were Terriers.

If it's a Terrier on the inside, it's a Terrier. Most of us who love the little monsters love them for their heart, their drive, their cleverness, and their Terrierist ways. Sometime you just need a bigger stovepipe. ;)
