I hate bra shopping

With the weight loss I have been having to replace my wardrobe. For the most part it's been really fun even though I'm not a big shopper lol but today it was time to get new bras since my old ones are too big.

What a friggin nightmare that was lol. I spent an hour in kohl's and tried on like 20 bras trying to figure out my new size... I tried on just about every size except the size I actually needed... because they didn't HAVE the size I needed. Seriously frustrating. turns out my cup size stayed the same but the band is a smaller size and it seems the smaller the band gets the harder it is to find that cup size. they had racks and racks (no pun intended) of bras but none in the size I needed. WTF

I went into JC Penney but I wasn't hopeful. I looked and looked and looked and when I was just about to give up I FOUND THEM. YAAAAAAAAAY I tried them on and it's a perfect fit. Praise the Lord lol I've got new bras and while I do want to lose more weight still I REALLY hope I don't have to search for a new bra size EVER EVER EVER EVER again.

lol bra shopping can be fun! The ladies at Victoria secret are always really fun and there are so many fun bras and colors

but yea I really do hate that when losing weight.. the first thing to go is the boobies! ugh. I have so many bras I can't even stinking wear!! lol

Number one rule.

Go as small in the back size as you physically can, and go to the biggest cup size you can.

Too many people wear tooooo big backs and too small cups.

I hate bra shopping too But I have just found the local supermarket doing them in my crazy size for £6 each..... OH EM GEE. Normally looking at £30 a bra.

I can never get a bra at any store in person other than VS. Too big of cup size+smaller band=Impossible.

I hate bra shopping. I have never found a bra that fits properly as it should and with my issues the idea of getting fitted terrifies me. Plus with my size the only place I found that has any big enough for any support(forget proper fitting) is Sears. So I walk in, try on several in private and walk out with the one that fits the closest before I have a panic attack.

Oh, and once you hit a certain cup size it's so hard to find any that aren't those high cut ones -- which are not only ugly, they DON'T fit me at ALL. If I ever have a regular income again I am going to order some good bras instead of settling for what I can find at Ross.

This, this, this! For a while the only place I could find cute bras in the right size was Lane Bryant. Then they started to feel kind of off, so I decided to get measured - turns out I wear an even bigger size than I thought and I can't even find them in-store any more I'm pretty broke, so ordering bras is out of the question. Right now I have one bra that fits (the new size, and oh, does it feel nice!) and one "work" bra (in the old, too-small size.)

There's a cute little independent bra store here in town that's fantastic. It's really worth getting measured and fitted properly at least once and once you have your size then it's way easier to shop for bras! The one here even sells "half bras" you can mix and match if you're two different sizes like many women are.

yeah this was exactly what my problem was. I was up to a 42 DDD but those are all WAY too big now.

I found I needed a 38. Great... lots of 38's EXCEPT in the cup size I needed lol. I tried going up to a 40 to see if I could get the bigger cup size I needed... nope that didn't work out AT ALL lol I tried on so many different makes and models and sizes and they were all terrible. they didn't fit right and the styles made my boobs look deformed lol.

I was fitted once before at victoria secret... what a joke that was lol. they were SO far off it was like they must have measured a different person because the size they measured me at was hilariously small on me lol.

I'm so picky about my bras too that it just makes it that much worse. I like a particular style and a particular look to my boobs when it's on and it seems so hard to find. Once I find a bra I like I don't EVER deviate from it lol but new size meant I had to find a new brand and everything and I'm just way too particular lol. I find the size, I find the style, I find the fit and once I find all of those I stick with it lol but FINDING the size, fit, style etc seems an impossible task for me. it's always stressful for me to go bra shopping lol.

I will wear these ones until they are literally falling apart because I don't want to shop for more but now I will ONLY go to JC penney and get the exact same ones I have on now lol.

I need DD and full coverage. I found a cute bra on sale in my size, tried it on and seemed fine, wore it around the house and the girls keep trying to escape

LIES!! Last year I lost 35 pounds and my boobs did not give AT ALL! Started a DD, ended a DD.

My sister recently lost a ton of weight, is down to 120 pounds, still with DD boobs! My guess is that if I ever get down to the weight I want I will still have huge boobs. I would be totally fine with tiny boobs.

I never lose a cup size either. I've crammed myself into a DD, but I'm afraid I really should go up at least one cup size, maybe two. DD is hard enough to find!

Oh, and it doesn't help to find a style you really love, wear them out and then go to buy more because that style will have been discontinued LONG before then :wall:

yeah that's my problem too. there are so many styles and that's great for some people... NOT for me lol. I need full coverage PERIOD or they are flopping out all over the place. It was a running joke at one of my old jobs. Everytime I would bend over I'd have to put them back in lol. My secret santa that year bought me a sports bra :rofl1: and this thing was the alcatraz of sports bras. I had to do the straps up AFTER I had my boobs in place lol.

I refuse to even try on a DDD, cause like you said it's hard enough to find those.

Sports bras are my favorite though, I wish I could just wear them all the time.

I have never got any joy from shop fittings... find it easier to just sort myself out. They don't generally have a clue about boobs.

Yeah my cup size stayed the same so I haven't really lost any boob per say but I went from a 42 in the band to a 38... which makes me insanely happy except for having to shop for new bras lol

I got two bras today. regular price was $36 and then I got the second one 50% off

If I try and wear my new bra to work I can be found running away from customers to put them away again. Which is why it doesn't get worn to work! lol

My sister ran x-country in high school and used to wear 2 sports bras to keep hers in place.

Oh GODS! I have never found a sports bra that wasn't painful The squoosh just HURTS.

I also hate it. Had to go last night because of weight gain, and had to settle on getting a fitting, because I couldn't find anything that fit. Now I've got two new bras that fit great. Delightful! And only $5 and $10 at La Senza! (That said, I don't think I'll ever be able to buy my bras anywhere else now!)

squeezing into a different size is not an option for me lol. I'm way too picky when it comes to bras. I'm my own worst enemy. Plus a smaller cup size gives me ugly side boob and muffin top boob too so I look like I have three sets of boobs lol NOT attractive at all

I must say though now that I've got the bras and am wearing one now... it's so nice to have my boobs back up where they should be. they were looking pretty sad there for a while haha. Brian would come home and ask if I was wearing a bra and I said that was my que that I needed to get new bras. I'm not cool with saggy boob.
