I took Cricket to the lake with my mom earlier today. Had a BLAST!

I wasn't sure how Cricket was going to react to the water. I know she hates baths, but then so does Bamm and he loves getting into creeks and lakes. My guess was that she'd diddle daddle a bit near the water without going in until she felt confident enough to. I was wrong. She saw the water, ran up to it, sat down, wiggled her little butt in excitement and literally THREW herself into the water. HAHAHA!

I think it's safe to say that my little mexican street dog is really a mexican water bug.

And now for the pics... mind you there are a LOT... I was trying to get as many photos as I could and I was especially aiming for action shots since I'm trying to get better at action.

On the way to the lake. She borrowed Bamm's bandanna but we ended up taking it off so it didn't get ruined

We teased her with the dummy to get her interested before we threw it out into the water. I had the dummy tied to a 50ft polybraid line and on the other end of the line I attached a clip. That way we could tie it off and not lose the toy in the water.

Not sure if you can tell how little she actually is from this picture??? she's really not as big as she looks in photos

An attempt to snarf the bumper dummy thing

I love this photo

Random picture of me and my mom... she wanted one of us before I go up to VA with Josh

Cricket and me... she merely tolerated this... all she wanted was to get down and go back in the water

Again... she just wants the water

Oh... and maybe I should have included a "dial up beware" warning at the beginning of this thread. I always forget how photo happy I can be.

Mom I think you threw it too far....

yup... too far

ugh... too far

Feathers are the noms

When we stopped throwing stuff in the water for her she came onto shore. Then she wanted back in the water so she went out there and kept herself amused. She just kept slapping the water with her paw... maybe she enjoyed the noise it makes?

THE END!

I love Cricket. The bratty stage is the best stage. With mine it has yet to wear off!
That's a gorgeous lake. I really want to try Auggie in a lake or a pool!

she really is one adorable girl--and your smile is just beautiful!
Thank you. the only thing I don't like about my smile is i tend to push my tongue up against my teeth and you can see that in photos. lol

HAHA Ya I don't think this bratty stage is going to end anytime soon. She is seriously going through a little regression period... pooped in the house twice when she hasn't pooped in the house since the day I brought her home. She usually rings a bell and both of those times she didn't ring the bell, just pooped. She can be outside and I'll call her and she acts like she totally cannot hear me at all. Just keeps doing what she's doing. Sometimes she'll look up to acknowledge she heard me and then goes right back to what she was doing. little brat. She also seems to have forgotten all of her basics like sit and lie down. She has decided that unless you have a treat in your hand she doesn't know what you're telling her to do. Now I know why my parents were annoyed all the time when I was a teenager. LOL.

I LOVE this lake. It's so unbelievably gorgeous.... HUGEEEEEE too.
