Looks great! I especially like the tree, oddly enough - I have a terrible time drawing trees. I keep intending to practice them, and general background stuff, much more.

That's awesome! I would love to get back into my artsy side. I used to be great at painting when I was young, but now would have to start learning all over again. Keep up the great work! Keep practicing :)

thanks everyone---I am not versed at all in drawing/painting dogs--much more comfortable with landscapes, but even at that it has been a looooong time since I did anything really decent. I am trying to just spend time, and redevelop some old skills.

I see you not only becoming more adept with your technique, but your style is evolving and becoming more yours :hail:

Traveler is, no doubt, watching over you with that exact expression :)

I really love all the light on his coat. Black dogs are hard to photograph and draw, so many people just make them into silhouettes. You did an awesome job pulling him out of the shadow and sculpting his form with light.

thank you both--living with black dogs, I often marvel at the shine to their coats. Yeah Renee--Trav, I miss the old girl.

as long as I don't ruin it--as I am prone to doing when I overwork things!

I LOVE this. It would go perfect in my kitchen and I'd probably sit in there and stare at it all the time....
thanks--I'd be happy to have someone staring at a painting of mine all the time--:p

do it! I am tackling this again after over 20 years of not painting with them!

I love the landscapes too! I always look at the watercolors and paints and canvas' when I'm at Hobby Lobby. I've never done any painting though, but one of these days I'd like to learn :p
