Nice. He looks very confident at the articles, how did you train them? (I have the most adorable little JRT sized articles but other than getting them use to retrieving metal I haven't started with them) Do you loose points for him mouthing the article?

I love his go outs :)... does he normally find the signal exercise tricky?

his articles were trained with the around the clock method.
he always loses points for mouthing, but he gets one free typically. we lose more points when he doesn't want to out the article (wish i could share his most recent video... where i have to physically rip them out of his mouth!

yes, signals and go outs are his bugaboo. we get one of them wrong most times :) he hasn't failed anything else in a year... (granted he's only shown 7 times total, and id ont want to jinx him) - but signals are hard because he hates standing still and ive really had to reinforce that i mean stand there and do not move.

go outs its a matter of focus. getting him to think.

Well he had fun anyway. :p

And the rest of it all looked really nice. :)
he always has fun :) if only we got bonus points for that!

I think one of my favorite moments was when Ares brought the dumbbell to the judge. And when she clearly had no interest in his prize, he tried to walk out of the ring with it. He spent quite a bit of time going back and forth between the judge and the blocked-by-stewards exit, all while still holding the dumbbell, before finally coming over near enough to me to consider the exercise finished.

Does he LOVE fetching the dumbbell? Kaiden learnt that after the retrieve over the jump I would take it away and it wasn't coming back. So he was fantastic after r/f but after r/j he could bring it to the judge, the ring steward... anyone who might throw it again lol.

He does enjoy retrieves, but it was mostly a matter of a lot of echo at the trial location, and every corgi there was doing odd things. Things they'd never done before or since. I was pretty sure the acoustics were upsetting them and made sure never to trial there again.

rah does everything to own it - so for rah, its just avoiding giving up his prize. its why i throw short - the more he runs, the more he gets into "wait, i CAN own this, she DOESNT need it back!" mindset and he starts chomping down, his eyes glaze, and he's done - his fronts are slow and reticent, he's mouthing the db - and its not LACK of comprehension, its his inner conflict (keep db v give it to mom).
