Traveler Screaming

This was taken with my friends Iphone so the quality isn't great and it doesn't give you the same ear shattering quality that it really is in person, but it'll do

This was on the way to the dog park the other day. I think it sounds like an odd mating call of some undiscovered animal. He is groaning, screaming and teeth chattering all at the same time. I'm sure there are those of you who've heard this with your own dog, but I've never had one that made this sound before so it's new to me :rofl1:

Disclaimer: Totally not a safe set up but I needed to improvise fast because he got out of the crate and he needs to be restrained or he would be in the dashboard trying to make the car go faster. I've got a harness set up now.

I can honestly say that the video does not do his screaming justice. :lol-sign: And surprisingly enough, I do still want a Koolie.

Oh my god. Ozzy does that EXACT SAME THING.

It drives me batsh*t crazy and makes me want to KILL him and several other small furry cute things.

And only in the car, when we're getting close to somewhere he knows. Like, if we are headed home, he does it when we hit the exit ramp. I want to murder him.

Hahah, that just woke Quinn up from her nap! She got up and jumped on the bed (closer to the screen), stared at him for a few moments, and then went and curled up at my pillow.

He sounds like Dally, though! I'm so glad all her screaming and talking and barking hasn't encouraged Quinn to go all vocal on me.

It really doesn't do it justice, but it's the best I have :lol-sign:

He does that when chasing other dogs but the car is the worst when he knows we're going somewhere fun. He will do it the ENTIRE way no matter how far, ask Jes, she got to hold him when he did that when going to a show when she was here :rofl1:

Traveler is a bad influence! By the end of my stay in Chicago, he had completely corrupted Raja. I was going to say Boone but... Well, he was always loud and annoying.

LOL thats nothing. Ivan is worse than that. Traveler screaming in the video didn't even garner a reaction out of Ivan. I will have to see if I can't get a video of Ivan doing his yodling/screaming impression.

Cara makes that noise, when I'm trying to sleep and she's in her crate. It can last for hours. (For the record, she is fine in her crate during the day, I think I'm just not allowed to sleep) However, she does NOT approve of Traveler making the noise apparently as she barked at the computer whilst the video was playing. (Being the mean mommy that I am, I played it a couple more times. :rofl1: )

That got Chloe going too. One more reason why we must meet up one of these days Chloe wouldn't know what to do with a dog that made as much noise as herself LOL... she'd be in absolute heaven.

I thought Quinns reaction would be good so I grabbed my camera before I played it for her.

It generate a LOT of interest, head tilting like crazy but no crazy noises out of her.



I have a mountain of vids I've been taking on my phone of Quinn but I can't for the life of me find my software to upload them to the computer.

It was just the snow! She was finally in her element

....or it could have been the getting peed on all the time, that might have done it too

Koolies are definitely on my short list of breeds to own someday, too I mean, how cool would it be to say "This is my collie, and this is my koolie" :lol-sign:

That would be pretty freaking cool if I do say so. Enough so that's a good stand alone reason to get one. You could even spell it Coolie if you wanted to make it more fun Since that's the alternative spelling for the breed
