This makes me sad and so angry!!

There's a pet shop in a mall here that is trying to pass as show breeders.

They mostly import mill dogs from the USA and sell them as "champion bloodlines, AKC pedigree" they keep them in dirty cages, many times without water and there's a nasty smell in the store.

Besides the imported mill puppies, they also have some adult dogs who breed , they have afghans, saint bernards and schnauzers.

In the last dog show, they came and tried to show a pair of saint bernards the poor things who where not in a good condition and they where very out of standar.

The pair had twisted legs, poor hair and poor muscle, I guess is bad nutrition and they had the paws and tummy with a yellow stain, for what a handler told me the cause of the stains is that they walk and sleep in their own urine and poop :madgo:

The judge got mad with this people and kicked them out from the show!! I'm glad :hail:

But this don't stop them!! I saw an add from them in the newspaper yesterday that was like this "saint bernard puppies for sell, sons of the best examples of the breed in Honduras" arrggg!!!

I'm furius, I need to calm down or my blood pressure is going to explode.

Here are the dogs:

the female

the male

Ugh that's horrifying. Good on the judge for kicking them out, though!
That female is way out of standard!!
Yes, and when I first saw her (before her turn in the show) I thought she was a golden/ saint bernard mix with more golden than SB.

The male while not show quality at least has a square head.. and some loose lips.

An hour later it was the turn of group 2 and the judge called the turn of the SB couple, I was shocked to see this people entering this two, they got an instant DQ for being mistreated and out of standard.

And they are still calling them "the best example of the breed" :yikes:

Was the handler the owner? I'd be surprised that anyone else, besides the dog's owner, would be crazy enough to take them into the ring.

Could you possibly contact the newspaper and inform them of the fraudulent claims that these people are making. Or you may even want to write an article for the paper educating people on what to look for when buying a dog.

I would be livid as well.

That female does not even look like a Saint.

That is so sad. And they aren't even groomed, look at the feet on the male...
Yeah, the poor dogs, you can see the yellow stains of the feet on the male from the urine too.

They are also claiming to be the breeders of all the puppies in the pet store, when most of them are imported from mills from the USA, they say the parents are imported and the puppies born in this country but at the same time in the adds they say they have AKC papers when Honduras is a member of the FCI .

For what a trusty handler told me, the store owner contracted people to show them, they didn't act like professional handlers , it appears they just were employees from their pet store.

There's nothing too mush to do about the newspaper adds, I remember a few years ago there were a group of people who wanted to ban for the newspapers to put adds of "massage centers" that are hidden strips houses trying to pass as another legal thing.
The newspapers promised the adds will end, but they never stoped, as long as they are getting money for any class of adds they don't care what is in them. :(

What I can do is to write to the pet section of the sundays , and tell about the puppy buying. :) hmm maybe I can send a resume of the saint Bernard standard.

The female is beautiful, but she looks like a mix. I have to say WTG to the judge!

I will say, though, that I think show breeders can be millers. Most aren't; showing costs money and puppy millers are looking for a profit, so it's not a logical course of action, but I know of people who show and pump out hundreds of puppies every year. Hundreds of pups, more puppies than you can care for properly and socialize to me = mill, even with without typical deplorable conditions.

Woah the female. I was like huh? That's a Saint? I don't understand why these people are spending the money to try and even show these dogs. I'm pretty sure they know that they're not going to go anywhere with showing.
