Well, I had good news this morning. My land lord called me back and said that not only could we have Einstein, but we would only have to pay 1/2 the deposit because we already have the two. She's met Doom and Bobsie and says they're the best behaved dogs in the complex and she has no problem letting me have another.

Then I heard from his rescue about fifteen minutes ago. His temp. testing with a crawling child didn't go so well, and needless to say, he is no longer available to a home with children. I know its best that we found out now and not later down the road when its Winnie getting bit, but I can't help but be a little disappointed, he seemed SO perfect, so instead of adopting him, I'm going to sponsor him until he DOES get adopted, which I hope is soon, and to a great home.

:(

They were going to do it anyway, its standard protocol before any of their animals become adoptable, he had just been at the rescue such a short time when I met him that it hadn't been done yet.

Aww... That totally sucks! :( You sponsoring him will be such a help though and he will find a great home. I am sure another perfect dog will pop up in no time :)

As for your landlord... What a nice lady! Gives me hope that I can rent with my dogs someday :p Plus its nice that she takes it on an individual case. Obviously you are responsible and its soo great when people evaluate on an individual case basis :)

She's great, she does agility and flyball with her dogs, who are a pittie and a Doberman. Our complex has NO breed restrictions and she does take things on a case by case basis, which is awesome. I looooove living here.

I guess you are Einstein's fairy godmother--it's wonderful of you to sponsor him. I'm sorry he isn't going to be able to come live with you--but you are making a difference in his life in a positive direction anyway.

Yeah. I'm going to ask Jon about fostering for the rescue. I really want to get back to making a difference, and being a stay at home mom, I have a lot of time to do that.
