Neighbors are driving me up the wall!

Now, these people are complete idiots in so many ways, but now they have bred all their female dogs...yes, all. That means they have 4 pregnant females...all mixed. 2 of their male dogs they bred have been known to get loose and attack others dogs, not happened to me, but apparently to two other people down our road, but apparently not reported? Although, I recently moved into this area, so I don't know the full story really, just neighbor talk.

Anyway, they have four male dogs and 4 female dogs. They have two house dogs that look to be a Chihuahua and a Poodle...those two were bred. Then they have two 'bullys'...hippo dog versions some would call them. Then a what looks to be GSD x and the other I have no clue, a heinz 57 all the way in my eyes. They crossed one 'bully' with one of their mixes.

They actually came over to me gloating about it and how they were going to make some fine pieces of dog and some heafty cash.

These people can hardly care for the animals AND KIDS they have, so I don't know how they're going to handle 4 groups of puppies. Half the time you hear them fighting with eachother to go feed the dogs on their chains, but no one wants to because it's 'too much work'.

Then they have rabbits they keep in a dog crate only a few feet from one of their 'bullys' and it's constantly lunging at those poor things.

I love my new house and property, but these people are driving me insane and I've barely lived next to them!

Can you report them for anything? =/

Sounds EXACTLY like some neighbors we had. Thankfully they were around the block from us, so I didn't have see it daily, but we were "friends" with the son of the family, and would hang out with him on occasion, and the SICKENING mind-set of these people was appalling. They had 4 or 5 dogs, all chained, one of which was constanly pregnant. The also had rabbits in dog crates outside with no water in the dead of summer in TEXAS.

One time we found a SKELETAL pit bull puppy in a ditch down the road from them. We took it home, and kept it for a couple days, asking around to find her owner. Of course the dog belonged to them, and they came and got her. The boy BEAT the puppy for running away from home. No f*cking wonder it ran away! And the poor thing was starving! We told him if he didn't want to keep her that we would keep her, or else find her a good home, and they said "oh, no" they "definitely wanted to keep her". A couple days later she died of starvation on a chain in their backyard. The dog was like 12 weeks old. I cried for hours. Not to mention, a week later we went to his house, and the dogs decomposing body was still chained up in the yard.

Soon after he got a dachshund puppy. (While already having 3 or 4 other dogs chained up in the backyard with their spines sticking out). Needless to say, we soon stopped visiting his house because it was too heartbreaking.

That sounds like something that should have been reported a long time ago. Poor puppy

I don't know if it can be reported though. Even though they my have bred all their dogs, they get food and water, and have dog houses...so is there really anything that can be done?

And that wasn't reported because? There's no way I would sit around and watch that happen. Also no way that I would return a starved 12 week old puppy to it's original owner.

To the OP: Is there a dog limit in your area? I know that in a lot of areas to have as many dogs as you are describing they have to have some sort of kennel license.

And I don't think you realize how much of this goes on in the south, especially at that time. At that point in time I didn't even know "animal cops" and stuff like that even existed, and neither did my parents. Get off your high horse.

As for the bolded part, it was THEIR dog. It would be against the law for you not to return it to them.

Our city has a limit law. We're allowed 2 dogs and have to get a license to have 3. You should be able to find your ordinances online if your city has a website. Also, some states have defined commercial breeders according to how many litters they produce in a year. Pregnant females should not be kept outside to whelp but there might not be any laws against that. I think it's your state's agriculture department that should have the laws for care of breeding animals.

Hi again. I haven't been on here much. I keep forgetting about it. I thought I would update you on this though. They ended up being busted for drug dealing, and growing weed. Plus it seems a complaint had been sent in about a happening with their children which I did not witness when happened. So, the adults are now in jail, the animals and children were taken. I believe all the dogs have actually been adopted from the rescue though! I was kinda a stalker of the rescue site to see what was put about them and stuff, and as far as I saw, as I said, they were adopted.
