I see Candaie is making a GF now too. Has anyone tried it?

Also which is the best Grain Free for the price? Laylas ears are always bothering her even with constant Blue Wash treatments. Just enough so she scratches and shakes them enough that it is a constant thing. We are switching both boys to Senior Kirklands so we may as well switch her to GF.

We have Petco, Petsupermarket, Petsmart and a local store so a bunch of variety.

Someone else with around a 30 lb dog, how much do you go through a month.

Frodo is 29.5 pounds, lol, and on TOTW (the salmon one), I feed him 1 cup a day.

It is *soooo* much cheaper than other GF like Wellness Core, etc. It is the best I have found for Frodo, as well as the cheapest. Win/win.

I haven't tried the Canidae, was put off by the changes and their customer service years ago.
My Mom feeds all of her dogs TOTW. Two GSDs and two little dogs, the big bag lasts her a month. That's pretty good...

I think Blue makes a GF diet, too. I *think* TOTW runs cheaper, though

I feed Chloe TOTW. I get it from Tractor Supply...it's just over $40 for a 30 pound bag, I think. She's 45 pounds, roughly, and eats one to two cups a day, depending on how hungry she is. I keep her bowl filled with two cups worth of food, and some days she'll eat it all and others she just nit picks at it.
The past two times I've bought the mid sized back (can't remember the weight) and she's went through about a bag a month or so. A 30lb bag lasts her about...oh...two months, maybe more?

I've only ever had her on the Pacific Stream flavor, but I'm going to buy Wetlands next time to see how that sits with her.

I've fed Canidae before, just not grain free. I had no problems with it, although the grain free sits better with Chloe.

And yes, Blue is ungodly expensive, especially when compared to TOTW!

Yea, TOTW is cheaper at our local Town and Country.... unless the Pet store has it on sale ;) when they put the Blue on sale my Mom gets it and adds it to the rotation.

Cool!! How long does the smaller bag last you?
The smallest bag they sell is 5lbs I believe. According to google there are 4 cups in 1 pound. Which means there are 20 cups in 5 pounds.

So if I am feeding 1 cup per day, a 5lb bag would last me 20 days. :)

I didn't have very good results on TOTW, to be honest. But it is cheap, I will give it that. And dogs tolerate different foods...um, differently.

We just talked about this on the other food thread. TOTW seems to be either 100% great results or 100% horrible results, so I would definitely not buy anything other than the smallest bag until you know.

We chose TOTW because it's high quality but not ridiculously expensive like some high end foods. It was the same price as merrick puppy food if I remember correctly. I wanted to go for the Canidae grain free but our store only sells it in giant bags.

Ours sells it in the 5 pound bags. I think we have decided to try a bit of them all besides Blue unless its on a TERRIFIC sale. And alternate with the others until we find ones she loves and then rotate meat sources. I think she would LOVE Pacific Stream because she LOVES Salmon well ness treats.

Is Solid Gold GF or only certain formulas they sell that there too.

I'm pretty sure Solid Gold only has one grain free formula and that it's called Barking at the Moon. I tried it a few years ago and my dog didn't do very well on it.

here TOTW is $40 for a 30 lb bag. Gavroche is 64 pounds and eats 1 cup a day. A bag goes a looooooooog way!

If you're in the US, I believe TOTW is the best priced high quality grain free food. At least that seems to be the general consensus.

PW - not necessarily. Found out today Gavroche is hypothyroid, so once he's on meds he'll probably eat more. As it is he is still gaining on 1 cup a day o.0
