About a year ago a friend gave me a nice loving dog who was around 9months old at that time. I was told he is a fawn boxer and there are many dogs around exactly like him and are said to be fawn boxers. However after some research I found out that my dog is no boxer at all. There's nothing to be disapointed about since I love him a lot. However it is unfair that the people who sell these dogs claim they are boxers. After having done much research on the above 4 breeds, my conclusion is that my Rock is a Bullboxer :). I have attached pictures of him and would like to have your point of view on his breed, even if it may not be a purebreed.

I'll have to do some research on Bull Boxers, never heard of them before.. But if he's a mix? I see APBT/Amstaff in the eyes and ears, maybe some boxer in the snout and the set of his eyes. No Boxer or APBT structure, though.. so if you guys think he's a Bull Boxer, I bet you're right! :D

He DEFINITELY is not a Boxer, and if he's a Bullmastiff his breeder wasn't very talented. Off to do some research on Bull Boxers now..

He doesn't look like a full Boxer to me and he definitely doesn't look like a Bull Mastiff. It's so hard to tell what the exact mix is. We found a stray Boxer mix that could be a Bull Boxer. Here is what she looks like.

No, not a Boxer, but a real cutie though! I am seeing a combination of several dogs that are common to your area. He has the very typical undershot jaw of a Boxer/Bulldog combination. He has the depth and width in his chest, plus elbowing out slightly, as a Bulldog would. Yet he has the the body, angulation in hip and hock of a Boerboel. Could be more than just 2 breeds in this pet. A mix and a purebred, two mixed breeds, you never know. Certainly not fair someone is trying to sell them as purebreds but looks like you ended up with a happy, healthy companion.

Whatever he is, he looks like a FINE dog!

The same thing happened to a biker friend of mine. He bought a "Doberman." As Thor got older and his coat came in, and his head developed, it became obvious that Thor was a Doberdale. He was also one of the best dogs I've ever known :)

thanks for your opinions which seem to vary but converge towards the bullboxer/boxer mix. In any case he is an adorable little guy and very very affectionate. He has the habit of jumping up high in the air and even climb up the fence like a little kid would when he barks at other dogs. His underjaw protrudes like a boxer but anyways he's fun to be with.

Bull Boxers are mutts. They are a mix of Boxer and terrier so really, you can't say if you have one or not unless it came from someone who for whatever reason bred them.

To me, it looks like a ypical badly bred Pit Bull or a Pit Bull mix, I don't see anything in it to suggest any of the breeds you mentioned though.

Bullboxer??

Yes, it is very similar to a bullboxer, which are a great hybrid....
But it has chow chow in it. Chows have purple tongues and anything mixed with chow has purple spots on the tongue. He may have chow in his previous bloodline, but it's definitely chow. Luckily he favors the boxers..

This is a super old thread, but there are other dog breed who can also have black mouths and don't have any chow blood.

One of my purebred borzois has black spots in her mouth.
