Useless Hounds

I got up to get a drink about 10 minutes ago. Reach into the fridge to get my soda and I see a dark shadow. Its a big fing mouse. Call Jeremy and the hounds bring the hounds in mouse doesnt produce that second and they walk off to go to sleep. :rofl1: Im standing on top of my table and they go to sleep Useless freaking hound dogs Muchless the greyhound he didnt even come to his call.

There is still a mouse in my house or he escaped somewhere. This is the first and only mouse we have seen and we have no clue how he got in.

I will not be sleeping tonight. But the dogs will.

Really Breeze, really? A mouse? You're on top of your table because of a mouse?

I thought you were tougher than that.

Now if it was a mouse-sized spider or something, then I'd sympathize.

Phoebe would be all over it for you! It's about time for a mouse or two to come inside since it's getting colder, but I'll tell you they don't come out where Phoebe can reach them! She'll paw/whine at the door to the utility closet, or paw/whine by the buffet table (there's an old vent there which leads to the utility closet and the winter mice use it as a freeway ) but if they come anywhere she might have a chance to reach them...........they are D.E.A.D

I didnt know exactly what it was when I got on the table and then I saw LOL At first I couldnt tell if it was a rat or a mouse. This made a field mouse look like a bite to eat. Plus there are all kinds of hiding places in my kitchen LOL. We went to bed not knowing where it was because it went into one of those hiding spots and then went *poof*.

Ended up I sat on the table spotting it for J LOL.

Tell Jeremy if you had an APBT there wouldn't be any rats in the house -- at least not for more than a few seconds.

I dont care I was half asleep and that thing scared me by popping up out of nowhere

My son had some pet mice that we had to be careful with them around the dogs.

Mice (except field mice) and cockroaches ALWAYS give me the heebee jeebees LOL. In a cage they are cool outside a cage, monster sized and in my kitchen at almost 1 AM NOT cool.

Yeah mine have been told they are useless and finding new homes LOL

We found a pretty good-sized dead mouse in the dining room a couple of weeks ago... the cats are finally getting it. Yay! (The first time one showed up, they all sat around and said, 'Look at that!' but didn't bother trying to catch it.)

Sis found the murder site in the laundry room, and was able to recreate the fight by the directional pattern of the blood drops (can you tell we watch too many CSI-type shows? )

I do miss my terrier mixes - no mouse or rat could get within ten feet of the house when Patch and Sam were alive... Riley's learning to catch small rodents, but he's nowhere near Patch's level.

When I was a kid snark, we had a beautiful hymalayan cat. My mom's idea for mousing, (she's deathly afraid of mice) One day my mother went to the restroom and there in the bathtub was a trapped mouse! She screamed, ran out, and yelled for my dad to bring Cha Cha (that was her name because she walked like she was doing the Cha Cha when we first brought her home) My dad set the cat down IN THE TUB with the mouse. Cha Cha just looked at the mouse, then proceeded to the other side of the tub and gave herself a good licking :rofl1:

You should see Kharma chasing mice, lol. Not that she fits into anyplace mice can go, but she tries -- or makes the space bigger :rofl1:

Bimmer is a really good mouser; his nose fits.

Tallulah = Death to Rodents . . . and stinkbugs.

Between the three of them, though, it is pretty much across the board Death to Tasty Varmints.

Ozzy has caught a few rats that made the mistake of coming out into the floor away from the escape holes. He and our cat Frankie used to tag team them. One of them would lie in wait and the other would get into wherever it was the rat was and send it running and then SNAP.

Now, Frankie is retired, and Ozzy wasn't here at this house last winter for the free for all (we get a lot of rats coming in during the winter) so there's been quite a rodent problem out here. But, since we moved back in, and brought Albus with us, Albus has been murdering Tasty Varmits left and right. His running kill count is at about 4 (and all of these are only the ones we know of) moles, 3 chipmunks, 5 good sized juvenile rats and 1 squirrel.

Ugh I know how you feel. I'm not really bothered by mice but I also am not fond of the idea of wild ones roaming around my house. It's the diseases they can carry more than the fact that it's a mouse.

we have mice in our house right now. They get up on the counter through the stove. Our dogs don't really bother with them. they don't care enough. Belle will obsess about it if she sees one but there is no way she'll ever catch one.

Although we seem to find that the dogs water bowl is a better trap than any mice traps they have our there lol. they just keep drowing themselves.

Remember, there is no such thing as ONE mouse . . .
