Tunnel, help me find one!

I really want to purchase a tunnel for agility... it doesn't HAVE to be a specific dog tunnel, just a big enough one. I cannot for the life of me find one that is under $20 and I just can't justify spending $40-$80 on a tunnel for our backyard.

Please help! Even something like the tunnel from this kit (I just don't need the other things in the kit - already have weave poles and a hoop jump, etc):

Check out stores like Toys R Us for a children's tunnel. I taught our Siberian/GSD to use the one our oldest (who is now 28) had one when he was little.

Yeah, if you're looking for something cheap, the kid tunnels are the way to go. They are like $15-20, sometimes you can even get one for $10.

I tried to find one at toysrus. The only ones they had at that time were partially see through and useless.

Sadly I wish I'd bought something better and more expensive now, but I've been selling off the stuff we learned on one piece at a time and buying better.

Anything cheap and made mainly for kids will have issues staying put and may have issues being anything other than straight. The 9ft one I bought I could just barely get it curved and staked and stay put for a while. Things I wouldn't have thought about when buying equipment as a newb.

I agree... the only thing our cheapie kid tunnels were good for was getting Auggie used to running through something closed in. You can't really curve them without staking the crap out of them. Even Clean Run's pac n go tunnel needs to be staked to be able to curve.
BUT... if you think $40-80 is too much for a tunnel... my 15ft competition style tunnel cost me $170 from Rocket Tunnels, but they don't seem to be in business anymore. NTI Global is having a sale right now and their 15ft tunnels are $175. Even just their 6ft tunnels are $106.

I have heard the Clean Run pac n go is a very nice cheap tunnel though, even though you have to stake it down all over the place to curve in. But if you were going to spend that much - I think they are $80 or $90 - I would spend just the bit extra and buy the 6ft one from NTI Global.
If you ever think you might compete you'll be dishing out more money later, so you might as well get something quality right off the bat.

I'm with Beanie. If competing may be in the cards I'd buy better now. If you change your mind later and you kept agility items in decent shape (used but not horribly abused like outdoors all winter) things sell off not badly.

Kids ones. I have one that I got that and the tent for 20.

I got a pretty good nylon one on ebay for about $50. It's been a really good tunnel. It's held up to Psyche ripping through it, plus Bella and her crazy tunnel obsession. It's got some wear and tear, of course, but I've had it for probably 3 or 4 years.

It's a kids one.

I got a really cheap "starter" Agility kit from ABC Catalog. It had a jump, tunnel, weave poles, "pause box" and a stopwatch. LOL I mostly use the tunnel and jump, they have held up pretty well, but I haven't even had them a year yet! LOL I got the kit for like $20-$25, but I think they went up a bit.

This is what her's looks like... When I get another one, I'm sure I'll get something a little bit of better quality, but for right now I do enjoy it (& so does Harleigh!)



For reference... this is her jump that we use. Definitely not the best quality, but it gets the job done. haha.


I'm glad you found one! Have ya'll started your Agility class yet? We just had our last Intro class last night and our next one will start in 2 weeks! So excited!!!!!!!!

I might have to just break down and get the whole kit! I already have weave poles, the AKC junior ones. But it can't hurt to get more I guess!

And yes! Jackson LOVES it. He's doing fantastic. Better than the Golden Retriever, might I add! He really is a natural.
