My boys. I finally have my rats, guys!
Four months after joining Goosemoose, all the preparation and research, and I FINALLY have rats!

These are not my best shots, but I wanted to show you all my boys. I'll get better ones later when I take them out of their cage. And I might as well have called this "The Schmilsson Photo Shoot" because I realized he was the subject for most of my shots. That was not intentional, he was just the more out-going rat at the time I was taking photos.
These boys all come from Dazzle Me Rattery. Melina is an awesome breeder and person. She is a wealth of rat knowledge. She walked me through everything. She told me about the different coat colors, showed me ways to handle them, and patiently answered any questions I had.
These boys are out-going and take food straight from my hands at just about 8 weeks old. They do not bite (they sniff and give me love nibbles, but not really bite). I can scruff them, flip them onto their backs (gently, with support, of course) and scritch their bellies.
They are lovebugs.
And I couldn't have gotten my rats from a better person. ;D

This is DAZL Bullseye (I call him "Grinderman"). He's a black rex.

This is the only individual shot I got of this guy. He was all over the place.
This is DAZL Etch (I call him "Guthrie").
He's a standard black. And his coat is gorgeous and shiny.

This is DAZL Buzz (I call him Schmilsson). He is a Russian Blue Agouti Berkshire Satin Dumbo (think I got it all there!) and he has a tear in his ear that has healed.:

Here he is with Guthrie:

"This mai nomz."

Guthrie is on top of the pipe, and Schmilsson is peeking out.

Dang macro lens working with hardly ANY light and it made the lens not want to focus right.
Grinderman:

"I has a cuteness!"

***one more***

OMG RATS I LOVE RATS. You are going to be so happy with them. They are such fantastic pets. I love how the babies love bite you. In my experience it rarely extends over to adulthood. All my baby rats grew out of it and only licked after.

When my son is older and he wants a caged pet the only one I would even consider would be a pet rat. They are so out going and such lovley companions. Plus, I want an excuse to have another rat in the future.

OMGoodness I absolutely LOVE them already! I really miss having a rat. My last rat was smarter than any animal I have ever had to be honest... she was so much fun to train.

Oh, they're adorable! I would love to have rats, but my mom is terrified of them.

Hi,
These are so cute and lovely. I too wish to have rats. But previously I have cats in my home and small kids. If they opened the cage the cats might kill the rats. So I fear of taking them.

Thanks, everyone!
Yes, that is a Martin's cage I have them in. It's an R-695.
And let me just say, that is MORE THAN big enough for my three huge boys.
LOVE IT. Really, I do love that cage. And they do as well.:D
And right now, they're in their martin's playpen. And they love that, too.
I don't love that as much as it's a PAIN to set up, but I imagine that once I get used to it, it'll become easier. Plus, I am not going to be removing everything that's hanging in it when I fold it up.

They're so cute! Awww, they look like they're going to be a lot of fun!

I love Martin's Cages... we used to use them for our chinchillas.
