I wanna cry

I'm just having an all around crappy morning. I'll spare you the details but it sucks so far. Then I decided to get in the shower and clean up. In the middle of my shower my power goes out. *sniffle* So now I'm soaking wet, having a crappy day and need to leave soon but my hair is wet and just... ugh.

And I'm supposed to get back this exam I took last week and don't think I did well on.

Well, it's summer. You'll stay a lot cooler with wet hair I think I've used the blow dryer once since . . . the middle of April, maybe? You'll be good to go -- as long as the Paps haven't figured out how to use the camera to get even with you for all of those wet rat pics you've posted of them :rofl1:

The exam is past -- and passed.

When you get home, Mia will have done something to distract you anyway . . . . . .

if it makes you feel any better, one time I lost my hot water in the middle of a shower... middle mind you... I had soap everywhere... like everywhere.... think about that .... not fun! no want!

Ugh... I got a notice that my utilities have been cut off for not paying but I payed last week. It has 'mail returned' written on it but I haven't gotten my mail back. It was due on the 23rd and sent in to get there on time. I never got my check back.

Wtf, I can't believe this.

Has the check cleared?

hmmm... I've never heard of services being cut off unless you're like 2 months behind.

I would call them and see what's going on. Hopefully they just have things a little screwed up on their end.

I hope you can get it sorted out. I'd call and see if you could pay with a debit/credit card over the phone to get it turned back on right away.

If it's an apartment in an area that's predominantly students, they don't usually let it go, Xp. Too hard to collect.

I'm surprised they turned it off this fast too. It's only 3 days after the due date and not even after the date to pay a late fee. :yikes:

If it's not after the late fee date, it shouldn't be turned off, Laur. It takes more than three days to process it for disconnect.

Definitely look and see if your check has been through the bank -- for last month

Or the serviceman may have disconnected the wrong apartment.

Ugh okay so apparently you're right and it's last month's bill that was a problem. I'm guessing something happened with the check? It seems to be missing although I know I wrote it (checked my checkbook).

So I re-paid and I'm supposed to get utilities again within 24 hours. Joy....

Do I even go to class? It's freakishly hot outside and getting rather hot in here too. I am worried about my dogs. Then again I need to go pick up my test too... Ugh.

Yeah they 'can't guarantee when, but it will most likely be today'. The heat index has been in the 100s daily for weeks now.

I'd hate for you to miss class... can you take all the ice out of the fridge, and put it in a bucket in the dogs "closet" and lock them in there so the ice only has a small space to cool down? plus they have cool water to drink....

If you lived closer I'd tell you to pack up the dogs and come over to my house. I wouldn't guarantee you'd get your dogs back, though.

The idea of not having power right now is horrible. It's SO hot outside here, too. Hopefully they can get yours back up and running soon.

Make sure you cancel payment on the other check, Laur.

How many exterior walls does your apartment have? Windows? If you cover any windows that get afternoon sun it will help keep things cooler, especially if you close those rooms off, too.

Setting some pans of water around and leaving some in the bathtub will also help absorb some heat. Not a lot, but it will help.

I just decided to forget class for today. I missed the bus anyways because I was on the phone and have no parking permit. If I walked to class today then I'd not get there until partially through it anyways. I can pick up my exam tomorrow during my prof's office hours I guess.

Oh and the 'mail returned' part meant that when I was visiting my dad for a few weeks my mail was SUPPOSED to be forwarded to his house. But the post office sent it back to the Utility company instead. And then after that nothing happened. They didn't try to re-send it either. So I actually was very late because I just sent off the check for both the missed bill and this month's last week when I got my new bill.

Moral of the story is pay online, I suppose instead of relying on the mail service.

But now I've double paid both months and they assure me it will go towards a positive balance on my account.

It's already getting hot in here. It's gone up about 10 degrees so far and it's just now starting to get really hot outside.
