Yes! They can be totally ridiculous.

A plus to having a smaller dog, I've found some great deals at Walgreens and CVS. I've gotten the cutest beds for $9.99 and cheaper. They have these little donut circular beds that are the exact same quality as the beds at Petsmart, for example, which can sell for sometimes $25-$30. These from CVS are like $8. And the quality is great and has held up for almost a year now.

Tractor Supply has cedar-filled plain rectangular ones for $10. They fit my crates to a t, and they make Daisy smell better... lol

I know!

Now we just go to an op shop and buy old good doonas. You can get a good one for about $15 and when folded up it makes a great bed, plus they are easy to clean.

Buster does has one that I got for $45, it was such a bargain, it soft and thick with a removable cover and its lasted.

costco usually has pretty nice ones for a decent price. we have a big one from there and a smaller (slightly more expensive) one from walmart.

i was eyeballing one at that pet place the other weekend that was lovely and soft and cushy and over $100. um, yeah no.

Jeffers seems to have the best prices but I inherited a couple of the thick ortho beds from my mom after her Rottie passed away. The cats keep trying to claim one of them but Riley is fighting them off... :D

I wish I had a small dog now! Lol, they're so cheap compared to the big ones.

I've glanced at those in TSC, but they seem like they wouldn't hold up very well?

I should look at Sams (southern costco, lol). They usually have a few.

Yeah, I'm looking at memory foam ones and the ortho bed. They seem to be the ones that aren't just small flaky little cushions that aren't worth the $45. I figure if I'm going to spend about $50 anyways why not spend another $30 or so and get one that will last.

The last dog bed we got was at dog.com when they had that 80% to 90% off all dog beds. It was great! I got a decent bed for about $10. Then a crate pad for about $6. I LIKE those prices. :p

I know!! It's unbelievable.

I found a dog bed on sale at the local pet store and persauded my sister to buy it :lol-sign:

Our dogs just usually have folded blankets in crates and they sleep on the sofa and my bed.

Costco beds are terrific, really durable and affordable enough to replace every year or so. I can't see myself spending any more than $30 or $40 on a pillow to put on the ground for my dog.

I understand the need for a dog bed though. I don't want my dog on my bed unless she is still and sleeping. When she jumps on the bed it's usually to flail around and deposit fur on every inch of my pillow.

I hear ya RD. My wee ones only get on my bed when I lift them up....at night time. They're too small to jump that high. They can jump off, but not on. Then they just sleep, no horse play. It's bad enough with what hair they do deposit. LOL.

Yeah, my Chihuahuas don't really have a bed. They share mine and use the couch the rest of the time. If I ever get another big dog, I will have a dog bed for him/her though.

There isn't enough room for us on our bed with three filas, so mine were banished to the floor area. I wash the beds constantly because of drool from the boys, so I changed them to childrens sleeping bags. Easy to wash, and pretty comfy on an egg crate.

That is what I am doing today, searching for new sleeping bags for the monsters.

Walmart! Thats where we got Connors last year and its held up WELL even with the dogs using it as a bed.

We do costco here for the boys. Upholstry fabric with a sheepskiny thing on one side cedar chips and removable covers. 20 something bucks and both boys ca sleep on it.

You guys have some pretty good ideas for dog beds. For the small dogs I find an old bed pillow works well, as long as I make a denim pillow case so the chewers don't tear into it! For the dogs that aren't reliably housebroken I use old bathtowels folded up to fit their crates.

The dogs here don't get on the furniture and only Blaze and Jake sleep on beds (by choice). We are using an old comforter right now plus the other dog bed that I got on sale. This dog bed would also be in the family room, so I'd like it to look atleast half way decent. Lol

One dog bed for atleast 2 dogs doesn't work very well, haha.
