...to foster four more baby kittens. :yikes:

A lady with the local ferile cat spay/neuter program came out today to trap the feriles that live on our property at work. They spend the day on our property but mosey over to the neighbor's - who feeds them - at dinner time. She managed to catch 4 or 5 adult cats, but she also found several 4-6 week old babies. She caught the babies too, and asked me if I wanted to foster them. Of course she knew to "let" me see the babies before asking if I'd take them. And of course I knew to ask how her organization could help me get them adopted *if* I did foster them.;) She said all I'd have to do is foster them until they're old enough to be spayed/neutered (though she was vague about exactly how long that would be), and then they'd take them back and adopt them out. So I said I'd do it. I already have 3 5-week-olds, what's 4 more?

As she left she said that she thinks there are a few more litters out there. :yikes: I told her we'd start with the four and see how things went from there.

She took them to be vetted today and if they're sick she'll keep them in isolation until they're well, to protect the babies I already have. They looked relatively healthy, though, so I think I'll probably get them in a few days. Hard to guess exactly how old they are, but she does think they're from 2-3 different litters.

I'm hoping that if I help her with this, she'll help me find homes for the two that I have. *fingers crossed*

I'll be sure to post pictures when the new little ones arrive! Wish me luck!

Kudos to you for doing that. I'd foster kittens myself, since they are MUCH easier than puppies, but Ozzy is very picky about cats he'll socialize with.
