Mia is having a phase where she's really regressed on her potty training. It's frustrating me but I can't get her to stop. Today we went outside and walked around for 15 minutes. She peed and pooped then came back inside and peed and pooped inside. Anyone have some tips, there's got to be something I'm not thinking of. I've never had problems potty training a dog before so I kind of feel like a loser, lol.

My friend's pup always has to poop 2 times so we don't go back inside until there's 2 poops.

I think you might have to go back to phase one. Like leashing her to you and not letting her out of your sight... everytime she goes inside its reinforced

Praise like crazy with treats or a game when she potties outside
and when you catch her going inside CLAP LOUD and lift her up and bring her outside, if she finishes outside.praise

Make sure you clean up the messes really well with natures miracle kinda stuff or else the smell will make her wanna go there again

I agree with the last poster.
I think the most productive way of dealing with this is to train her as if she were a puppy all over again. Never let her out of your sight and be prepared to clap loudly or toss a can full of pebbles in her direction when she tries to go potty. Take her out to potty often and make sure she's totally "empty" before you go back inside. Set her up for success!

haha, are Tippy and Mia related?

I had to just start from scratch...not letting her out of my sight at all inside.

You know how much she produces, so don't go back inside until she has. If this tends to happen at the same time each day, use it as her exercise period so you can keep her outside for a half hour, getting her to run around, work on obedience, see the sights.

Does she always pee/poop in the same spot inside?

How many times a day does she eat and drink?
Nope, not in the same spots. She'll go wherever she can. I swear she's in sight at all times but if I even so much as turn around sometimes she's snuck off and gone.

She gets fed twice a day, once in the mornings and once at night. The weirdest thing is she doesn't seem to have much in the way of a schedule for potty times.

Oooh, that's a tough one.

The only advice I can give has already been given. Good luck!

She was potty pad trained when i bought her and she still will only go on the pads if I leave them out for her. Maybe I'll have to do that for her too.
