I just wanted to brag on my girl. We were out yesterday at petsmart which is in a shopping center. This sweet elderly man who was there and he asked if he could pet my dog. So we ended up sitting down and chatting about dogs for a long time, and the dogs he used to have and how he missed being able to have them. He just kept bragging on her and she was sooo good. She sat in his lap and gave him some kisses. She really ate up the attention, too.

I need to get that girl back into being a therapy dog. She is just such a people magnet. She just lives to make people happy.

Summer IS the best. I'll bet that guy smiles every single time he thinks about her. And you're the best too, Laurelin. That lovely inborn disposition of hers would not have bloomed as it has without your gentle guidance and support.

Hmmmm. Now, about Mia...

Awe, and I agree........summer IS the best, but you aren't giving yourself nearly enough credit. I don't know many college kids who would have taken the time to sit with that man talking dogs or anything else for that matter.

(((((((HUGS)))))))) for you and Miss Summer both, they broke the mold when they made you and Summer.......and yes, they broke the mold for Mia too (thank goodness, ROFL)

Oh, that is special! What a great job you both did in making that gentlemen's day.

That is great! Dogs can have such an impact on people, having a dog that is able to "share" her love and affection with others through therapy would be a bonus!

Aw thanks guys. The man was very sweet and seemed very lonely. I hope Summer made his day a bit better. He said his little shih tzu passed a while back and he just couldn't handle a dog anymore. He was very shaky and had to use a walker to get around. He said if he could, he'd have a houseful of dogs. Seemed like a really nice guy.

Well I didn't get Summer until she was 4 so I can't claim to have raised her well, lol. Her breeders did a fine job though. ;)
