We had a wonderful, clear Sunday and a full moon tonight. This made for some amazing light at sunset, but I only got a few minutes as I caught it last second. Enjoy!!

Thanks! :D

This lake is in our neighborhood. Sadly we don't live "on" it, but it is just a few houses down.

Yes, but you can know you paid a whole boat load less for your house than the person on the lake. LOL, we live in the same type area. The lake is only a few houses down from ours.

Beautiful pic! You're so lucky to live so close to a lake...and in Florida... I'm jealous lol

I'm really ignorant about photography... would you mind telling me how which lens and settings you used?

Very, very true. There was one house for sale on the lake when we were looking, but it was considerably smaller and still quite a bit out of our price range. There's no true public access to the lake, which is a bummer, but we can sneak down on an empty private lot

I knew I wanted a fairly long shutter so I could get lots of light in from the sunset. So I ran down to the lake, put it on the tripod with my 18-70mm lens and set it to shutter speed priority at 6 seconds (which equated to f/7.1), metered on the sky. Had I more time, I may have done it a little differently, but I was pretty happy with the results. :D

If I lived in FL, I would prefer to be a few houses down... My sister's old apartment was right on a lake, it housed her "pet" crocodile. :lol-sign: He wasn't a "pet" I'd want in my yard!

Great Picture! :)

My parents have a small pond with a dock, and they had an alligator that used to climb up to the dock to sun himself :yikes: They had to hire someone to remove him, lol.
