Well kind of a new puppy. She's 5 months old.

A lady at my dad's work was giving away a 5 month old GSD (daughter bought it, daughter moved, parents didn't have time to train it, etc. Same old song) and a friend of his mentioned that in passing in a conversation they were having about dogs. It sparked his interest so he asked for a picture. My parents went over to see the dog today (I had to go to class so couldn't go) and when I came home, we had a new puppy.

She's very well mannered, but yet very puppy-ish too. She half knows sit, shake, and I think that's it. She's still a bit nervous (shakes a bit) but she's getting used to us I think. Very friendly. Currently she's laying(?) on the floor chewing on a bone. The question mark is because I don't know what the hell she's doing because she's half flopped over and hunched up against the chair even though she has the whole floor to herself.

Leo doesn't like her, but he'll get used to her I wager. He's extremely jealous though. I'm glad he'll at least have a 'friend' while we're gone, because without Sheeba he has to be left on his own and that bothers me. Doubt it bothers him but ya know.

Uhm....her parents (and her) are AKC registered (though who isn't?) and we got the papers and all that jazz. Parents didn't press as hard to get hip dysplasia info as I would've liked but...well I warned them.

Anyhow, important part is coming up. Pardon the mess as we're moving stuff around for an entertainment center we have coming tomorrow.

Meet Nikki

And Leo yawning into my shot.

You must be excited to finally have a GSD. They're really amazing dogs.
Quite. Best part is my parents are the one who decided to get her, so I don't have to worry about having to bring it with me or anything should I choose to go to Edinburgh.

Hehe, she has "bat dog" ears like Lacey :) I love that stage when they stand but their head hasn't grown into these massive ears.

She's got an intelligent expression, too
She's ridiculously intelligent. Her name was Sadie, but we changed it to Nikki and she's already responding to it. She's got the basics of 'down' down (though gets distracted easily) and has started sitting at the door to be let in after two times practicing it.

She is ADORABLE GO! Congratulations! Can't wait to hear of her adventures.........or misadventures as the case may be! LOL

Hmmm . . . . wonder if your parents got the pup to help convince you to stay closer to home . . . . . ;)
 RENEE! How dare you make such a bold, unfounded statement! We parents would NEVER stoop to such levels :rofl1:
