We might be adopting a powderpuff CC from a breeder who is retiring him. I am so excited! She says that he is an uber cuddler and that she wants him to go to a companion only home since she doesn't think that he shows much agility/competition prospect.

He has to go on a neuter contract, which I don't care about.

I was going to get another papillon, but I have met a few powderpuffs and really like their personality as well.

It kind of seems like fate. I haven't made up my mind yet, but we will see what I think after I meet him.

You'll fall in love once you meet him lol. I've already had a hairless put paw prints across my heart, though he was only a foster. I will be getting a powder puff as soon as I can.

LOL! I hope that I do fall in love with him! I feel kind of bad for not getting another pap, but I really want my next dog to be older and this just feels so right! I have always been kind of intrigued by the breed, and now that this opportunity has presented itself I feel like it would be foolish of me to not look into it more.

It will be extremely good experience for honing my grooming skills.

I'll have to post pics as soon as I get some! I might be going to pick him up this weekend, and then I have to get him neutered within two weeks or so. I mean, IF I get him. lol

Jeez, I am already so excited and looking forward to this. Is there anything special that I need to know about Powderpuffs that I don't already?
She is even going to groom him for me before I adopt him! (IF I adopt him, lol)

I'm going to have to watch that... My husband gave me a limit of four dogs, and if we get this guy we will have three, so ya never know:D

The breeder also grooms her own dogs and she told me that she is going to groom him before he comes to live with us if I decide to take him.

I usually brush my current two every day. I don't go crazy, but they get a quick run through with the brush.

I plan on buying him some clothes since it is so cold here. What do I do for him in the summer sun? Keep a thin shirt on him, or just keep him out of the sun as much as possible?

a think shirt and a high spf baby safe sunscreen (i like avenos high spf line for the cresties) on exposed skin (ie ears if she shaves them, face/nose and neck, pretyt much anywhere hes been shaved) a think shirt will protect his back.

i dont worry too much for quick potty breaks, but trips to the park/outings ect in the summer both mine get sunscreen and thin cotton t-shirts on.

That sounds easy enough. I really like the hairless cresties, but I know that I am not ready for one. While I was talking to the breeder she was telling me how much work she puts into her cresties and how it's really hard to keep the skin nice and smooth on the hairless.

One day though.

Well, I think I am getting him! He is an apricot and she has him cut like a hairless with the body and face shaved while the tail, head, and feet have longer fur. He is gorgeous!

This is the after groom pic the breeder sent me:

Isn't he precious! I told the vet about him today when I was there getting Root his pre-op appt and second round of shots and picking Delilah up from her spay. She thinks that a crestie will fit in with my goons amazingly!

Well, I pick him up on Saturday afternoon, and I have his neuter appointment set up and everything. I even went out and bought a car harness for him last night and toys and all. Wow, I am going crazy, I'm sure of it.

I mean who in their right mind wants three dogs that are all so young? My husband thinks I've lost my marbles permanently.

Ha ha well.. Who cares what the Hubbie thinks, obviously he is on the same path of craziness as you because he is allowing you to get another dog ha ha j/k. If I could I would want another dog as well. A little Pittie puppie!

He doesn't really have much to say about it since he is deploying at the end of the summer and won't be around.

I would love to have a Pibble, but he isn't too keen on it. He reads all of the bad press about them and he doesn't want one. I'll change his mind some day.:D

I'm so glad I have people to share this excitement with that understand!
