Teachers striking

Sorry, guys. I guess I just didn't want to continue this thread as a "debate whether or not striking teachers are bad people" thread.:lol-sign:

I use a Nikon D300 for my shots.
and I used the 55-200mm lens for those only because I could shoot them then from my car. It's not my preferred lens, as it's not my sharpest lens, but using a portrait lens would have required being more upclose and personal.
The girl with the sign, though, saw me taking shots from my car, so she actually posed.
I didn't mind, though, because her sign was the most decorative, so it allowed me to get a clearer shot of her sign.

I don't think striking teachers are "bad" people. I like lots of teachers, even have a few as family members


Question on your camera, how is it at action photography, how fast can it focus, and can it stay focused on a moving object. Say a moving dog at about 20-30 MPH's that's going across the field or towards or away from you?

It's GREAT at focusing.
But, also, remember that focusing also has a lot to do with how fast your lens is, too.

But, it has a great metering system and a 52 point focus system.

It's pretty much a professional camera. And lots of professional photogs use my exact model of camera for sports shots.
It's becoming outdated, though, but only because Nikon has released newer models since.
But it can still perform well for action shots. Most definitely.

And if anyone knows anything about Ella, you don't get between her and her moving ball.:lol-sign:

Nice, Sharp enough for me and can't really tell they aren't sharp, i'm just taking your word for it. I love the 1st and 3rd pic the most.

wow... I don't even remember making that post last night LOL. I was SO tired and loopy. I was like "hmmm I posted that?"

I actually like the black and white the best. I think it was... fitting for the situation. Kind of a grim position for those teachers

but... I really know nothing about photography so my opinion is based on what I find pleasing to my eye and NOT on technique

Becca, what lens would you use that is sharper? Because those seem very sharp and detailed.

Well, then maybe it isn't sharpness, but overall quality?
Or maybe I'm just so used to using my camera inside with entirely different lighting (and where I have more control over the amount of lighting)?
I don't know which it would be.

But I think my Tamron 28-75mm lens is sharper, and I know my 60mm macro is sharper.
But snapping shots like those, it would not have made sense to use either of those lenses.
But if I could have, the quality would probably have been better.

This thread makes me want to go out of the country and take a history class. I'm very interested in how different it would be from ours. That would be awesome.

What makes these photos great is the responses they created, that is what photography is about, stirring up feelings of some sort.

As far as the debate- I think anyone should have the right to strike but I think the employer should have the right to replace striking employees.
