I thought this would be a nice thread where everyone could say why their dog is the bestest dog in the whole world and why they fit them so perfectly..

Dekka.. the bestest dog in the world (and is a JRT who knew?)

She agrees to play any dog sport I want to try, obed, agility, earth dog, rally, dock dogs, racing, trailing and locating.

Me:Hey I told some director from NY that you can hack being a movie dog, its going to be hard and very cold.

Dekka : ok

She is my constant shadow. Even out at the barn or in new environments she explores, but stays close. She sleeps under the covers at my feet ever night.

She is as crazy about me as I am about her. She loves other humans, but I am very special to her.. and she is very special to me. Even when she puts her own spin on something we are doing (that doesn't require spin) it amuses me in ways another dog doing would only irritate me.

(and she gave me Kat)

Rylie is the best dog ever ;)

She's definitely my heart dog... she's always smiling (we call her Smiley Rylie!), independent but loves to cuddle, makes me laugh, she has a presence (if she barks or growls, every one listens and backs away), etc, etc.

I love all of my dogs, but Rylie is just special to me. I really don't know what I'd do without her.

Lucy is a total goofball. She's just sunshine and happiness in everything she does. She runs up to complete strangers demanding pets and belly rubs, and when she runs, it's like her life purpose is fulfilled.

She does everything I could ever want from her. She kisses my face when I cry, and dances with me when I'm excited. She gets along with dogs, people, kids, anyone. She knows when to be calm at therapy dog sessions. She is proving that twice rejected shelter mutts can do just as well at agility as any other type of dog.

And at the end of the day, she always curls up in my lap for love and attention :)

Auggie is the bestest for a million and a half reasons. He made everything feel right again, and every single day, as long as he is by my side, nothing will ever be wrong.

Because she is my Bestest friend And I love her more then anything in this world.
Because she tries with all her might to protect me from whatever. And because when she runs in the field with kacee she will go so far then stop and wait for me to catch up or she will run back like she hasnt seen me in weeks and do this huge, happy greeting with lots of kisses, just because.

She is the bestest because she loves me no matter what. No matter how frustrated at her I am. How sad I am, She loves me nomatter how I look and no matter how big or ugly I look. She never judges. She just loves me for me.
Her love has no boundaries, or conditions. The only thing she asks from me is to be loved back. And I do :) And thats all I need to show she is the best. :)

Dance is the best for lots of reasons. She's so full of joy and happiness, her face is just a permanent smile. She's attentive and focused, loves to learn, looks at me like I'm the best thing in the whole world, etc. She has the most adorable voice when she's "wooing" at me. She's pretty to look at, but unbelievably cute at the same time. I love how I can take her out in public, and eventhough she's not a fan of strangers, I still end up with tons of comments on how well behaved she is, and what a great dog she must be. She never fails to bring laughter into our home -- she is the silliest, quirkiest dog ever and we all love her all the more for it. She's independent and loves to think and improve upon any given task, but is still more than willing to do what is asked of her. I love her more and more all the time. Just when I think she's about as perfect as she's gonna get, she surprises me time and time again.

Really, her only downfalls are that she doesn't like strangers and that she barks quite a bit for no good reason.

This.

He's smart, cuddly, adorable, sweet. I wanted a lot of things in my puppy, but I could only hope to get such a cuddler. He has to sleep on my pillow or between my boyfriend and me.

Misty my cocker spaniel was my bestest dog ever. She really knew how to read me and responded accordingly. She loved everyone, adults and kids alike and seemed to know if someone was afraid of dogs. She would just back up and lay down. I miss her still all the time. Her death day was January 6 and she has been gone for 3 years.

Madison is trying to be a good girl, but her her wanting what she wants when she wants it has not moved her to the top of the list. She is definitely my husband's heart dog and I love her, but she hasn't reached me yet like Misty. The house would be empty without her, and she makes me laugh every day. Don't get me wrong, but I think most of you can understand, Misty was my heart dog.

Izzie is the best dog in the whole world because she's always ready to go and do anything and everything. She's such a smarty pants too and learns super face and likes to show off for people. She's always here for a hug and cuddle, she sleeps under the overs at me feet, and she's absolutely comfortable being spoiled. Oh and she's super soft! Oh her fur is absolutely softest in the world!

Ares was always more than willing to do anything I asked of him - obedience, agility, herding, tracking, area searches, odor detection, guard the object. Not only did he do what I asked, but he gave me everything he had and did them nearly flawlessly (except for handler errors, training errors and clown moments). He could just about read my mind and we were completely in sync most of the time.

But that's not what makes him the bestest.

He's the bestest because it just doesn't matter to him all the awful things I did while I was learning.

I blindly trusted my trainer when I put a prong collar on him at 4 months old, when I picked him up by the leash and collar for biting me, when I used an ecollar for heeling, recalls, go outs, retrieves and scent discrimination retrieves, when I used tied a lead from the halti to the grooming table arm for nail clipping.

After a while I stopped blindly trusting my trainer and started learning better and gentler ways to do things. Ares had all the reasons in the world to shut down and not trust me. Yet he worked enthusiastically and trusts me 100%.

His ability to deal with everything I shouldn't have done is what makes him the bestest dog.

Oakley is the bestest because he completely fills up my life...I would be so bored without him.

He may be filling it with frustration at times, but thats ok. The times where he fills it with the purest love I could have for anyone or anything make it SOOOO worth it.
He is constantly entertaining me, even if he is just sitting there...and if I want to play, so does he.
He has SUCH a personality too...he doesn;'t put up with ANY sh*t, but yet puts up with so much.
We clash a lot...I want to cuddle, he doesn't...He wants to play, I don't...etc, etc. But at the end of each little tiff, we each always give in to each other just a little bit. He doesn't want to cuddle, but he gives me a lick & then lays down close enough that his body is just barely touching my legs. Or I throw his toy once, and he accepts thats all he is getting for that moment, and then happily entertains himself.

I love him :)

Cocoa. Saved. My. Life

Simple as that. That is why she's the best little doggy in the world. If I didn't have Cocoa growing up, I wouldn't have seen my 13th birthday.

Buster.

He tries so bloody hard.
He doesn't have to love on every stranger, or even on other family members, I'm his number 1.
He always asks to go outside to toilet/vomit.
We can communicate so easily now, much easier than I can with any of the other dogs.
He's 7 now and still has his puppy days.
He gives the best cuddles, not too over the top, just right.
He makes the cutest growl when he wants something.
I can trust him to help keep me safe.
He changed my life, if mum had not decided to bring him home when she found him in the car park that day I might never have found my passion for dogs or learnt nearly as much as he has helped teach me.

He's my best friend and I can tell him all my secrets.

Because he's adorable.

Because even when I am infinitely annoyed with him and want to throw him out the window, he still finds ways to make me melt.

Because he's so eager to learn new things and figures out things ridiculously fast.

Because every single day, he reminds me about the importance of patience, and of just breaking loose and being silly. Because at the end of the day, what matters is happiness. That's what he's taught me.
