Help me decide..

For 5 days now I have been trying to decide if we should take this little puppy or not.

Its a Papillon/Pomeranian puppy. (lets see if you can understand this) My husband works with this girl who's boyfriends boss got this puppy and decided a puppy was to much work so they don't want this puppy anymore!

I really really want another puppy but we already have 3 dogs (Small,Med,and Large..lol) I don't want to take in this puppy and find out we are in over our heads and finding out 4 is just way to many ?? I mean yeah this will be a small puppy but still I find small ones are more work..LOL

We have the time for another puppy, we have the money, I'm just scared that my house will be toooo hectic ??

Its driving me BANANAS!! I don't know what to do..lol HELP ..haha

Anyone else crazy like me and have FOUR dogs ? If so is it crazy ??

Those are high energy little dogs ... don't know how the mix would act. A small active dog with a medium and large active dog will have to be protected because it will incite play with the bigger dogs and they won't know they're being too rough. So hectic, yes, but if you're up for it, it can be done.

What's one more? Lol!

Off and on over the years, that was my usual number, so it doesn't seem weird to me. And by Saturday, I will probably be right there with ya' again!

well I have three in our household. No four But close enough haha. The way I see it whats one more right? ha ha I think if in your heart you want to adopt this puppy do it! you have the time and rescources I think you could make it work. And you want another dog. Its not like its a jump on the opportunity decision. You have thought about it.

Ha ha I have a hunch that you will see the puppy and fall in love with it and bring her home with lots of pictures to show us? sound like a good idea?? ha ha

If you think you and your current three can handle one more, then go for it! I personally feel that four is a lot more work than three. When I had four, my house was a lot more hectic, and now that we're down to three again it's much easier to manage. I currently have four due to baby-sitting my Grandma's dog, and it's a little hectic again. Two or three dogs is my personal preference. You wouldn't think that a fourth could change the dynamics that much, but it does. At least, with my dogs (and perhaps breeds) anyway.

we have 6 in the house right now, and quite honestly after 3, its realy not much more work to add the others lol.
they all go out together on their schedual and everyone gets along so...

my current "want" number is 5 adults..
i want 3 cresties, and 2 larger dogs, likley a mastif type.

i may add to that an addtional 2 once i get my property established and some goats by adding some LGD's to live out with the goats and alpaca but 5 is my "pet" number.
but im weird and like ODD numbers...and ODD dogs

I think that you could handle it. Believe it or not, since we're recently down to six, I've been looking at the floor, counting the dogs, and thinking "Now this is a manageable number." My parents think I'm crazy, but it seems it's usually me taking care of the dogs, and I don't find it a problem.

Why don't you take her as a "foster". That way you can have some time to get a feel for a 4 dog dynamic in your bunch, and see if that's something you can handle or not. Or if it's something that your current dogs are okay with. If it doesn't work out she'll at least have some good basics set down and you to help her find the perfect forever home, and if it does work out...there you go!

I think Romy's foster idea is really good.

I have three, and I babysit dogs for family members now and then. Four isn't that unmanageable for me. I plan to foster for a rescue once River is older and more trained, so I'd be at four then.

Sounds like a really cute puppy! I can't really talk though because I have 5 of the crazy hyper little buggers at my feet right now....

I've known a couple pap/poms and they were all good little dogs, but yeah they're pretty energetic. Both paps and poms are high energy breeds especially when compared to other toys. Most the pap/poms I've met seem to lean towards the pom side of the family but that could just coincidence. It's a pretty popular cross with the designer market, I'm not sure why because they usually end up looking like pet bred poms or papillons.

There's 5 living with us right now.
The biggest downfall to me is that there is so much poop. :rofl1:

I have 5 right now, too 2 are (I guess you could say) temporary / fosters.
My only real complaint... the poop :rofl1:

If you can afford the food, vet bills, have the time, etc I say the more the merrier! :lol-sign: we are no help
