You can also get beads made with your pets ashes in them. it's kind of neat... you can either get a glass bead made to keep a tiny bit of ashes inside... or you can get the bead made with some of the ashes in the actual glass. They are really pretty and something that no one would know it had ashes anywhere in it unless you told them. it looks like just a regular piece of jewelry

That is neat, Tanya. It makes me wonder if, when the time comes, if I'd be strong enough to do something to commemorate their memories. I've gone through some pet deaths, one where I stayed with during the time she had to be put to sleep, my cat, but I was so distraught I couldn't even let them know that I wanted her ashes. I hope when the time comes with my dogs I can do something that would remind me of them forever, and that would be a nice way to do it.

It would be nice if I could make that decision now before the fact, so I don't have to then. lol

That's my plan, to try and make the decisions now... I got far enough to know that I want to be there when they put him to sleep, but as far as what to do after that, augh. I tried talking to my mom a while back about if I wanted to pay the extra to have him cremated alone or not, and she was like "I don't think so... I think he should have some buddies with him when they-"
That was as far as she got and I had to stop her because I honestly couldn't stand to think about it. Several years ago my mom and I were going through a bunch of old files shredding old tax stuff, and I found the bill from when they put our collie down. The fee for cremation was on there. I couldn't even stand looking at the bill... it just destroyed me to think about it. I don't know why that bothers me so much. I just can't think about it. X____X

Those bills always bothered me too ..... especially when it went into hundreds to save and finally the PTS charges and cremation .

We had Teddy Cremated and half of his ashes are buried in a tree that we bought specifically for that reason after he had passed and every year the tree blooms flowers around the time of his death and the other half are in an urn with his name and a picture of a coonhound on it.

I wanted to save half of the ashes because next time we move... we aren't going to be able to take the tree with us that breaks my heart but I can plant a new tree with more of his ashes when we find out forever home.

but I always knew that is what I wanted done when it came his time... it just came sooner than expected. I was in shock and the lady at the desk asked if I knew what we wanted to do with his body and I just said "I want him cremated" and then just stood there with this blank look on my face becuase I didn't know what to do after that.

I'm very at peace where I've put some ashes . All were special to the dogs and me .And I have a mixture of all /

No, I think mine deserve to rest in peace in their favourite spot in our yard.
