I wish the AKC wouldn't even allow registry. Its hard to believe how some people can be so blatently irresponsible.

They send you the registration papers in the mail, and it could take up to six to nine months? What is that all about?

Notice that they sell with limited or full registration, depending solely upon what you pay? And it's only ~ $200 different.

Looking further (hard to do ... very 'busy' site!) and I saw that the only colored stud they have is only at stud to approved bitches ... they must be white or carry white!

Cant beleive I just seen this.

For those who dont know, or who are lurking. If a Doberman has a "Z" in it's reg number it carries the white gene, and should not be bred. Any one who breeds Z factored or white dobermans is a back yard breeder. Here is some info on why it is bad: DPCA | The Doberman | Albino | What is albino

Now, I like white dogs. I have a white boxer. Would I buy one, especially from a breeder like this? Hell no. My current dog was a rescue, and I'm VERY lucky that he has no health problems. If you want to BUY a white dog, people ought to get a breed that's supposed to be white. I find it ridiculous how many people ask me if I'd be willing to breed my boy to their white boxer bitch (never mind that he's neutered). People are crazy.

That website is painful to look at, too. I feel like I'm in the 90s again O.O

ETA: Apparently you can buy an extended warranty for you dog, too  Only $14.99, good for 10 years :rofl1:

I don't think it would be right to impose a "no registery" allowed just because the dog is born with the mutation. But, I think this is a very good idea to perhaps stop the intentional breeding of Z factored dobes:

There is dialog currently between the DPCA and the American Kennel Club to impose a breeding restriction on the Albinos. They would still be registered, but would have the same restrictions as an ILP registered dog. Owners would not be allowed to register any progeny of the Albinos.
Found at the DPCA website: DPCA | The Doberman | Albino | What is albino

I've seen those types of sites before, I'm sure we'll see them again........it's sickening :( I've witnessed people argue about why it's RIGHT for them to purposely breed the dogs with this mutation. I've seen them claim that the DPCA is just snobbish and WRONG, they don't want to accept a white doberman and are just basically making up this "mutation" thingy

If it were just a matter of color (or lack there of) they could win me over, because well, what's beautiful to one person may not be to the next. But these dogs suffer from vision issues, photophobia (sensitivity to light) have all sorts of skin issues caused by sunlight.........WHY would anyone in their right mind INTENTIONALLY breed for these things? Dobermans in general have a host of health issues ANYWAY........let alone adding the extra bonuses I mentioned. It's just terribly sick IMO.

I agree, if it was just a different color and not all the problems that go along with it, then they are gorgeous. But it's not worth creating a beautiful dog just to let it suffer.

Just this morning I was telling my coworker that I think I'm going to go with a standard poodle next year instead of a boxer. And she chimed in "Unless you can find a white boxer!" *headdesk* (Not surprising, as she just got 2 dapple doxies from a puppy mill, and then told a bunch of other people to get them from the same place >_>)
