Frontline Plus - have always had very good results with it

Now buy online cheaper than from the vet.

My vet sells Frontline Plus.

1) how many people use frontline products?

I use frontline for all my dogs and cats and have for as long as I can remember pretty much.

3) what do you think of frontline?

I like it, obviously I would prefer to put NOTHING on my pets, as any chemical can cause problems but that really is not an option around here. So this works very good.

4) where do you buy your products from (vet/online/shop)?

vet

5) what do your vets recommend?

frontline, but I dont do much that my vet recommends, lol... so this isnt the reason I use it.

Good Luck finding something that works for you.

Id like to know...
1) how many people use frontline products?
We alternate...we used frontline plus for a few years but the fleas and ticks were biting straight through it and not dying...after doing some reaserch we found out like most pariistes fleas and ticks can become immune or resistent to certain chemicals, so we now switch it up, k9 advantix for a year, Frontline plus for a year, it seems to be working much better for us doing it this way.

2) how many people use alternative products (please state what brands)?
Please see above

3) what do you think of frontline?
base frontline suckes...frontline plus is much better as long as your not in a frontline resistant area...i just wish it also repelled mosquitoes and biting flies.

4) where do you buy your products from (vet/online/shop)?
online usually, 1800 pet meds has good prices

5) what do your vets recommend?
frontline brand, but all the vets in this area are SPONSORED by frontline brand so they actually get a cut of any product they sell (they also do this with foods ect)

1) how many people use frontline products?
I used it once this spring when the ticks were particularly bad.
2) how many people use alternative products (please state what brands)?
I normally don't use anything, just look her over carefully each night.
3) what do you think of frontline?
Never had an issue with it, just don't like using such products if I can avoid it.
4) where do you buy your products from (vet/online/shop)?
Feed store.
5) what do your vets recommend?
Not sure, never asked.

I used to happily use Frontline on my dogs until my friend told me that..

After Frontlining her dog he scooted into the living room and shook near one of her dark brown leather sofas, the minute splatters of Frontline that landed on the sofa stripped ALL the colour out of her couch and left funny bubbly looking patches where it had landed..

Now I am not so thrilled about putting it on my dogs.. Unfortunatley we don't get Avantix here, and I trust the supermarket brands even less, so I am stuck between a rock and a hard place.. I still use Frontline but not nearly as often as I used to, and I am looking into alternatives..

I use Frontline Plus. When I first adopted Lola the previous owner gave me a tube of Revolution which is supposed to be a heartworm preventive as well as a flea and tick repellent. She was using it on her previously.

Needless to say with Revolution Lola had fleas and with Frontline Plus Lola does not have any fleas.

I bought the Frontline Plus the last time from a seller on Ebay. it was the 3 pack packages which I bought four packages for a years worth for $85

1) how many people use frontline products?
Nope
2) how many people use alternative products (please state what brands)?
If we go stateside I use Advantix
3) what do you think of frontline?
Works in some areas it seems.. in others ticks and fleas are becoming resistant
4) where do you buy your products from (vet/online/shop)?
Online
5) what do your vets recommend?
Don't bother to ask anymore. Don't really care what their opinion is since they told me that revolution does it all. It does the american dog tick and no other.. so it doesn't do it all.

We have so few ticks here I've never seen one in Ontario, so mine go chemical free. Haven't seen fleas in ages either.

vets are not sponsored by frontline. and of course they get a cut. so does anybody who sells it. that's part of selling products! if you buy your product from petmeds they're making money off you, too. that's why they're in business.

anyway, i use frontline plus if i have to use something. i prefer not to use anything. if ticks were not an issue i'd use advantage.

1) how many people use frontline products?
Not anymore.

2) how many people use alternative products (please state what brands)?
When I do use something, I use Vectra 3D. Frontline quit working for me last year.

3) what do you think of frontline?
It is a good product, but stopped working in this area.

4) where do you buy your products from (vet/online/shop)?
The vet

5) what do your vets recommend?
Everything.

I think I put one dose of flea/tick treatment on Sawyer this entire year and I've not seen a single bug on him. I never use it in the winter anyway.

1) how many people use frontline products?
Yes, for the dogs and the cats. They split a big dog vial in mid spring and we are usually good until late summer/early fall. Pedro got an extra dose mid summer this year as we were taking him to the woods quite a bit.

2) how many people use alternative products (please state what brands)?
We used to use advantage, but started needing the tick protection.

3) what do you think of frontline?
It works great here. I think because most people here still use nothing or the Walmart junk so the bugs haven't become immune.

4) where do you buy your products from (vet/online/shop)?
The vet

5) what do your vets recommend?
Depends on the situation, but pretty much anything except the Walmart junk LOL!

1) how many people use frontline products?
I used to use frontline, and I've always lived with multiple dogs. I have been trying to use more holistic methods, but we had a problem (rescue dog had fleas, brought them in) I have recently switched from frontline to revolution
2) how many people use alternative products (please state what brands)?
Revolution- seems to work better, also works against HW
3) what do you think of frontline?
I liked it, swore by it, and then it stopped working. I read about frontline-resistant fleas. I thought maybe the dogs got wet or something after I applied it, but it became a waste of money and it obviously wasn't working. I mean, they were getting bit and the fleas were still crawling on them. So with some reading, and suggestion of friends & family I switched
4) where do you buy your products from (vet/online/shop)? Vet. Sometimes online.
5) what do your vets recommend?
Depends on pet.

1) how many people use frontline products?

I only use it if I'll be travelling into a tick-prone area.

2) how many people use alternative products (please state what brands)?

Advantage if needed. I try to use all-natural flea sprays first.

3) what do you think of frontline?

Good for ticks, doesn't work for me with the fleas.

4) where do you buy your products from (vet/online/shop)?

Vet or chain pet store

5) what do your vets recommend?

Frontline Plus and/or Advantage for topicals, and right now, quite a few vets are pushing Comfortis.

thank you

thank you for all your kind responses, im particularly swayed by some comments to go natural or at least rotate between herbal and something like spot on. As always questions lead to more questions and research than answers but im more confident now!!
