Meet Killian, a HUGE, sweetheart of a dog. He isn't new, he was at FOHA for two weeks before the whole canine flu stuff. He is around 110lbs, he's very smart, although not in a "highly trainable" sort of way.:p I am 5ft tall, and his back comes up to my waist, which I guess would make him *looks at yardstick* around 36 inches at the withers. He is listed as a shepherd/retreiver mix. What you think, maybe Anatolian shepherd mix? (His ears are prick ears, he just has them folded back)

"A tether! Get it off!"

Look at his eyes, you can see he's a gentle soul.

Thanks for your guesses! :)

His coat texture, color, length etc. are identical to a friend's golden/sheltie mix. I would guess gsd/golden. With all the oversized gsds running around it doesn't seem to far fetched that he could be a mix of one and come out that big.

One of my friends growing up had an anatolian. His head, coat, pigment, etc. don't look very much of her dog. I think the resemblance is mainly in the proud tail and black mask, but lots of dogs have proud tails when it's incorrect for the breed, and he's a mix on top of that. He does have a very nice "utilitarian" kind of build, like a sturdy shepherding dog and that is actually quite a bit like hers, but he could just be a well built mix. :)

ETA:

Here's a pic of my friends sheltie/golden mix. You can see the resemblance in color and coat. He's only about 50-60 lbs and 24-ish in. at the shoulder.

I do think there's some GSD in there -- look at that nose as well as the tail. Other than that I think he's so much of a mix that he's almost a breed unto himself :)

He has Opie eyes.
