Buy a bag of Purina or something cheap like that, go get the dog and then turn it over to a shelter after getting it checked for a microchip. :( Obviously it can't be very loved if they're willing to trade for a "sack of dogfood".

So sad. I see a lot of "will trade for xbox" etc etc...makes me sick. There was one guy on CL where I live who said "well thanks to flaggers one puppy died outside and the other is out there now and will stay there until someone picks it up" mind you it was 100+ out at this time... People are heartless sometimes

I would get the dog for the bag of dog food. Have it checked for a microchip and if none found then foster it until the right person comes along. I would not turn it over to a shelter as a previous poster had stated. If it had a microchip then get in contact with the owner the chip is registered to provided the chip is not registered to the person that the dog was obtained from. If it did then have the previous owner have the information changed.

What the f*ck! Who would trade a dog for dogfood!? Like wow... yeah, I agree with Romy, the dog was probably stolen... :( I'd be horrified to see that ad too.

That's infuriating; sometimes I think this just can't be real. People actually do this crap and it blows my mind.

Can someone who lives close please get a cheap bag of dog food and get this poor dog?
