I usually just snag a whole bunch of doggy bags at the park or trails as they are all biodegradable and then i'm set to go.

I can relae with skKi as I too workd at the same dog daycare and had the same fate with the holes in the bags!
Glad I am not the only one that will admit to this. Fortunately for me I live across the street from a park where there is a dispenser. I will grab a few at a time because sometimes they re out and it takes a day or two for them to refill. I have never run out myself.

Then there is the neighbor who walks his dog with a plastic bag sticking out of his pocket. When he is done walking the dog the same plastic bag is in his pocket and never was removed. He does it for show so that people think he is going to pick up his dog stuff but never does. One day i will get the dog on video and him and the dog walking away and then post it on You Tube for all to see.

get urself one of these dogs..

lol otherwise, I use the hold your the breathe, pick it up , and ditch it in the nearest trash can method lol
Yes - that's the perfect solution!

Molly is on a raw diet so her poops are few and far between as well as not stinky.

I have a doggy pouch that I carry my poo bags in along with cell phone and a couple of disposable surgical gloves just in case Molly ever rolls in dog poop as I have witnessed with other peoples dog. She hasn't yet - it's just in case.

I just looked at the product the OP was referring to. That's funny - ya, just what I need, something else to carry and it actually keeps the odors in there nice and tight for when you open it. May as well get a little soft sided cooler to keep Molly's poo in pristine condition until I dispose of it.:D

Plastic bags here. It's honestly a new concept for me because Molly never pooped on walks, and Lucy never has either, so the fact that Juno poops on almost EVERY walk just blows my mind lol. Thank God I've finally gotten her poop to firm up... soup is not easy to pick up off of pavement.

I deceided to purchase one of those 'Dicky Bags' - Dicky Bag - the Ultimate Dog Poop Bags and they genuinely work well.

It's great to go walking with my dog and not need to worry about having to carry a plastic bag around (indeed, often with holes) until I can get to the nearest dog waste disposal bin.

Thanks for the suggestions anyway guys... Maybe, not the cork idea  !

We use the bags on board bags and dispenser. They are biodegradable which is a big plus for me and we have never had any that were ripped or not strong enough. It's certainly not my favorite thing todo but what other options are there really on a walk?

My first thought when you mentioned him having the same bag in his pocket on the way back was "eww he put the poo filled bag back in his pocket?!" but I suppose your explanation is more likely. ;)

lizzybeth727: I'm still cracking up about that poo trap video! :rofl1:

I want to emphasize that ALL DOG POOPS ARE NOT DISGUSTING... well, none of them smell like cinnamon rolls that I know of, but if you feed your dog a premium, species-appropriate diet you will be picking up small, firm, faintly if any odored poops. Which is far better than giant, loose, rank piles that a grain-filled diet will get you. I too work at a dog daycare and I have to pick up daily after dogs that are fed Beneful, Kibbles n' Bits, and Moist n Meaty... and it is incredibly gross. I want to yell at their owners to put the freakin' pieces together!

If you have money, a little time, and do a bit of research, you will be shocked by the poops your dog has on a Raw diet. I had my friend try pre-made for a few weeks, just so that she could see the difference... and she now feeds Raw because it really is worth it in that regard.

Also, I use biodegradable bags with handles. The handles make it much easier to tie them safely!!! :p

Hey Guys,
Thought I'd update you about the Dicky Bag I bought a few weeks ago... It's now arrived and it's really useful to go walking with. I can just clip it onto the dog leach and he gets to carry it!

On walks I use plastic grocery bags...I check them for holes first....and then I always make sure I have TWO! At home it's a combination of a scoop/rake thingy...that I scoop the poop into plastic grocery bags.

Years ago...when my husband was new to the whole poop picking up thing...he had taken our lab Sadie for a quick trip outside to the grassy area by our apartment. Sadie pooped....he had no bag on him. He panicked and went with the only thing he had...a dunkin donuts coffee cup. I would have paid alot of money to see that!!!!
