Is there a breed of spitz exactly like an American Eskimo but particolored? My new neighbor has an eskie and then a dog the exact same size and shape but it's particolored.

What colors? I think Eskies are allowed to have tan or cream - I think it's a fault in the show ring but does pop up sometimes.

Or maybe an oversized Pom?

Well, they were both about the same size and the for sure eskie was standard sized. So I doubt it was an oversized pom, it was just way too big. They were literally identical except for markings on the one. The markings were tan (close to my Summer's markings actually) but it was very piebald. It kind of looked like this Norbottenspets marking wise:

But it looked like this build wise:

It was a very stunning dog whatever it was.

Ugghh... now I can't think of what it's called... but it's either a Eskie or Pom related breed that looks exactly like either one but it's got color... urgh..

I'd say it's probably one of the german spitzes. They can come in parti color, and technically both the keeshonden and the poms and the american eskimos are all pretty much german spitzes, with slight differences between them.

They're going to be more common then the icelandic sheep dog here in America. And...poms can get really big. I met a pom that was 30 lbs and the owner was sure it was a "pure breed."

before WWII poms & pugs and several "toy" breeds were upwards of 30 #.

I asked a friend with a german spitz and she said the only particolors in the US are black and white not red and white as of now. I guess that's out then.
