I've noticed this lately, and I think others will feel the same way as well, or at least I hope.

Some pictures are just too big to see and get the overall look of the picture, I can't look at these pictures because my comp is slow and won't load them. And also pictures rotated appropriately is a plus.

Also, and this is a huge pet peeve of mine, when someone is posting pictures and they say "MORE" at the end, that means there are more to come... and do not post until you see an "END" of some sort.

My rule on photo size is that it has to be all visible on the screen. Bigger than the screen, not cool.

Photobucket resizes pictures to a normal decent size.. so I think people that use photobucket are pretty much good in that department

umm people that have nothing nice to say, or that nit pick pictures.. "you need to clip your dogs nails" "your room is a mess" "what do you feed your dog?" that kind of thing

I tend to agree. Pics too big for my screen load very slowly, and either I have to wait 5 min just to see one pic, and I end up clicking out the thread (which sucks, cause I love looking at the dogs of fellow chazzers), or I have to scroll sideways and it's difficult to view the whole picture.

But how can I tell if my pics will be too big for your screen?... its a very rare day that someone's pics are too big for my screen!

The lack of rotation annoys me. Photobucket can do that for you.

Agree with Red.

I'm guilty of posting big pics (when i post once in a blue moon..) when i am too lazy. But I agree.
As far as comments, I think some people don't say those to be bitchy, maybe they are actually concerned and don't get it or are just curious.

I always resize mine to 800x600. Which is the minimum most screens are set at.
Really? No one I know in real life runs at such low res. I haven't run that low res since the mid 90's :D

I am annoyed this monitor only goes up to 1440 x 900 which is what I run it on at all times.

I think 800x600 is a good size for the upper end of things. Usually i just let photobucket shrink it, because i'm too lazy to open photoshop.

Just because a picture doesn't fill my whole monitor doesn't mean it's a good size, in my opinion. Even on my pretty fast cable modem, it takes a while to load some of these (not sure if that's the server they're hosted on, or my internet being stupid)

My photos are usually 500-600 TOPS at the bigger side. I like being able to see the whole pics in one fell swoop. If there is something specific in the pic you want people to see then crop that one part and post it at 5 or 6.

Not only does that size easily fit on screens, but it also doesn't take forever to load for those with a slower connection

Yeah, tis why I said minimum, not maximum. :p

I think our OLD computer, like 15 years ago, was on 800x600 and actually had a LOWER setting :)eek:). Hell, I don't even know if that old clunker went up 1024x768. :rofl1:

Mine's currently on 1024x768. It'll go higher, but I've never set it higher.
