Yes, because a GSD and a Doberman look EXACTLY the same. Silly people :p

Believe it or not, I actually saw a pic of a long haired Doberman once! It was on some sanctuary's website, and I can't find it now, but I swear it was a red Doberman with long, flowing hair, like an afghan hound! I kinda wonder if someone mixed an afghan hound with a Doberman and it happened to come out looking mostly Dobe-ish.

ETA: Yay for google! I found a different one that looks more spanielish. They claim its a rare genetic defect or something. I guess its possible, its known to happen in rottweilers too.

When Aesop was a puppy someone told me matter of factly that he was a Chow/Sharpei mix:rolleyes: 98% of the Chows here are backyard bred dogs/mixes, so have long somewhat pointy noses. Aesop had extra skin on his face as a pup (which he's since grown into) and a more blocky muzzle so that apparently makes him part Shar pei. And when he was 3 months old, someone asked if he was a Mini Chow and wouldn't get any bigger? He was covered in wooly puppy coat...

Now that he's an adult no one mistakes him for anything, aside from the little boy who thought he was a lion:p

Nearly everyone thinks Uncle Fred is mega-Beagle. Or, as someone said the other day, Tyranosaurus Beagle.
