Can you guys recommend anything that we could give our cat Sparky to help him with his shedding? We brush him daily, sometimes twice a day. He eats a good diet. Is there some kind of supplement I could give him to help? Low calorie would be best as he is on the chunky side.

Thanks :)

Better food? Mine shed less on grainfree. Emma sheds less on raw. Not sure what you're feeding now, but something like that might work.

If Sparky has a short coat with lots of undercoat (like most cats do) getting a furbuster or furminator will help a LOT. If he's a longhair or mediumhair. . . or has a thin coat with little undercoat, I don't really have any suggestions. :( Those hair types are a lot harder to stop the the shedding on and you should NOT be using a furminator on them. (the blade can break long, thin hair and will scratch the skin if you're using it on a very thin-coated animal)

I furminate mine maybe once a week. If I do it too much, some of my cats end up baldish. No good. They look at you with indignation if you make them bald. Course, they look at you with indignation anyway. They ARE cats, after all.
