Hi it's me again

I was wondering if i should contact the dog whisperer (Cesar) for my miniture pincsher. He barks and play nipps and doesn't get along with other dogs. I've watched the dog whisperer several times and it think its a good decision. Please let me know what you think.

yes you should, and i'm sure everyone on here will agree with me. Good luck and hope to see your episode on the air. but in the meantime, give him a few rolls just for fun. That's what I think..... I also don't think you're serious

Just in case you ARE serious please PLEASE read up some of the other posts on this forum about Caesar... I do NOT agree with his tactics at ALL! You can search the threads and find plenty of threads about him.

If you are serious, for some reason... (don't know how anyone could be serious) yeah, do a search. There are loads of threads on your subject.

On the chance you're serious...

NO. It is NOT a good idea to contact Ceasar for your dog. A) those are easily solvable problems for any half-decent trainer in your town B) I imagine Ceasar is too busy to take on a case that "easy" (it wouldn't make for good TV).

Instead, why don't you give us more details? How much exercise does he get? What do you do when he starts barking? When does he bark? When does he nip?

Not all dogs get along with other dogs and there is nothing wrong with this. I think it's cruel to force a non-social dog to repress his dislike just because you think he should play.

It's not and should anyone else think of doing something like that, just don't. Because that's grounds for "both" users to be banned as it's completely against forum policy, even if it's "just for fun".

No absolutely not. If you really want to be on a TV dog training show, you'd do much better to contact Victoria Stillwell from Animal Planet's "It's Me or the Dog".

Do a search here for threads discussing CM and his methods.

If you give us more details on what's going on with your min pin, there are many excellent people on this forum that can help you.

I just reread the first post about your minpin barking, and it seems that there were several questions that people asked about your dog. Maybe if you would respond we could help you more.

These really are common problems, probably almost everybody on this board has worked with dogs who aren't perfectly friendly with every dog they meet; and I'm sure most of us have been around excessive barkers as well! Most trainers are highly experienced in these problems and can certainly help you. This is not a case you'd have to give Caesar to solve by putting your dog in his "pack" or any other of his methods. Going on his show should be an absolute last resort, you've honestly tried all other options and nothing else is working. Otherwise, IMO, it's a waste of his time to do a show about your dog.

Good luck getting Cesar, he's pretty booked up these days and isn't slowing down yet. Bless him and all he does. What a remarkable man. :hail:

Cesar's a great choice, but you're asking about him on the wrong board since this is a major anti-Cesar zone. :lol-sign:

Try The International Association of Canine Professionals if you are looking for someone who uses a similar philosophy and is both reality and results based. Please take the time to read through some of the general articles on their site before you hire anyone.

Avoid fantasy based trainers and their emotional sales pitches.

If you like Cesar and want to talk with other folks who also like him, PM me and I'll give you some great links.

:)

we aren't an ANTI CESAR ZONE, like with any dog forum. we all have different opinions. i honestly have no problem with him, i watch the show on occasionand I LOVE DADDY <3 i think hes so cute

Would i ever use that form of training on my dog or allow some wannabe to do it? HELL NO.
but if cesar offered to come to my house would i decline? of course not!

Ive HEARD bad things about him but ive never actually seen it, so i remain undecided. For me, its an issue of w/e works for your dog and if your dog is healthy, happy and loved then.. it works for you and your dog

No, you should not contact Cesar. You should read a book like the culture clash and start clicking for behaviours you desire and ignoring those you do not.
But, if you feel that hanging your dog by its neck is acceptable, by all means, go ahead!
