I litterally JUST got an e-mail from her, just a second ago. And I think she wants him back.

'i had a dream elvis wandered from your home back to me. and that he misses me. i miss him too. i'm wondering if elvis should come back home with me?'

Oh.... boy....

Hell yeah. I got the e-mails to prove it.

I never had his vet records changed into my name, because his vet is down in New Orleans and my vet is in Baton Rouge, and I just didn't see the sense. So I changed his name, and he started going to my vet, where he had a check-up, a neuter, and a dental. And he's due for his rabies vax, so he'll be getting that too. I even have a vet transcript showing that he had puss on his eardrums from the ear mite infestation that SHE allowed, along with photo's I took.

Now I'm irked.

D@mn straight Renee.

In the words of ACamp, she can go p!ss up a rope. :D

Hopefully this doesn't escalate into something bigger though. She has my cell phone number, but from what I can remember, that's the only info she has on me.

No. No no no no. She gave him to you... GAVE him to you. She can't get him back even if she wants him back.
Tell her you love him very, very much. Then tell her he has tumors - lie if you have to about how bad things are; oh, he has cancer and I've spent so much money trying to remove all the tumors and the vet says it's going to probably cost a few thousand more because he has more tumors to be removed, and that may not fix the cancer and we might do chemo which costs $XXXX and and and...

I would almost guarantee she'll balk if you tell her that.
If she doesn't... break out the fisticuffs and tell her HELL no.

Yeah, I'm not gonna reply. Just looking up the e-mails I have and gonna save copies just in case.

I just realized, I never had him scanned for a chip. I'm going to have that done when I get his rabies done, which will either be tomorrow or Monday. Kinda worries me now, as Microchips hold so much freaking legal weight in things.

Yeah I think being that you've done all that and spent all that money that he is now your dog. Tell her too bad too sad. You have the emails to prove she gave him to you. She won't be able to take him back either I mean no court would allow that. He is pretty old right? That would just devastate the poor guy.

She gave you the dog, you spent money on the dog......Frankie is your dog

Um, too bad, so sad. How much money have you spent on Frankie so far? What was her lame-ass excuse for giving him up? Don't reply to her past something like "all hard-ship rescues are final", but keep all the documentation handy for what you've had done to him.

Tell her you adopted him out and you can't disclose any info to her about who adopted him because of privacy issues

Some people are incredible.

When I worked at the kill shelter for a brief period, there was a female yorkie who was adopted by some people, and later brought back for biting them. They called a few hours after they returned her and said: "We kinda want her back. Kinda." umm, what exactly does that mean?

Even if he has a Microchip, you have the e-mails passing ownership to you, so it won't mean anything.

My "uncle" went through the same thing once. But, since he had emails from the other person that was passing ownership to him, the person couldn't do anything about it. Once it was all settled, he changed the name on the Microchip info over to him, and that was that.

I bet if you gave her a bill for all the vet care, and your feeding and housing him--tell her to pay up, she would run the other way. ;)
