What is the best to use for tick prevention? Advantix? it's getting to be that season and living where we do there are so many ticks in this area. I just found one on my boob tonight :O and it had to have come off of one of the dogs.

We are picking up something for tick prevention this weekend. What would you recommend?

Ewww, boob tick!

We use Advantix, but we've still found nearly 10 ticks on Lucy so far this season, just from walks around the neighborhood. If there's something better, I'd love to hear it--when we mentioned it to the vet, they said Advantix was our best bet.

I've used Frontline Plus for all my dogs even when I lived in the northeast.

I vote for Frontline Plus too! Ticks freak me out so I check Maya often. Since we started using Frontline, I have only seen one on her, and I think it was actually on her collar.

I use frontline plus. The only ticks I find anywhere near the dogs are dead ticks that never had a chance to bite.

in some areas frontline plus is best in others k9 advantix works best, if your finding lots of ticks while using advtantix, try switching to frontline plus and visa versa

try adding brewers yeast and garlic to food too! it helps.

frontline is good for ticks and safe around cats (advantix is toxic to cats) so that's what i use. luce came in from the backyard (which is about the size of a postage stamp and in town, mind you) with a tick on her ear the one day last week. i was not amused.

OK I think I'm going to start with the frontline plus and see how that goes :)

I can't really say I have found a lot of ticks on the dogs. I have found one on belle before and then there was one on me last night and it couldn't have come from anywhere else but Beezer. I wasn't anywhere that a tick could have dropped on me or anything.

the ticks love me for some reason. wish they had frontline for people lol

OMG... if I found a tick on my boob... I would probably have a seizure and die, no exaggeration!!! D:

I have never used any topical products on Fozzie, and only a few times on Gonzo in the past. Supplementing their diets with natural flea/tick repellents has worked well. Until, I found a tiny tick crawling on Fozzie yesterday, began to cry, and put Frontline Plus on them. It always worked when we took Gonzo camping and all of the other dogs got ticks. I just moved and, among other nasty bugs and creatures, the river that runs behind us must be tick heaven.
