Does anyone have any good suggestions as far as male dog (Doberman) names? Something nice, but interesting and unique at the same time. I'm awful at coming up with masculine names, as I've pretty much always had girls.

Eee! Devan! Did I miss something?! :D

I'll think of some and see what I can come up with. I'm awful when it comes to names.

I've got a whole slew of male names.... it's all I can come up with nowadays, it seems!

But it all depends... what's the litter theme? ;)

I've always loved the name Malachi, pronounced MAL-a-kye. I've always wanted a male standard poodle and name him that. Malik for short.

Nope, nobody really missed anything! We weren't planning on adding to the family at all, but we couldn't resist the temptation of two little red surprise Doberpups. We've been waiting almost 6 years for a red Dobe. :)

Sizzle, the litter theme this time around is rip, tear, or torn. I don't know why... but it's making it very hard to come up with a reg. name as well, let alone a call name.

(Kennel Name's) Rip Tide
(KN) That's Torn It!
(KN) Tears of the Sun (CN) Apollo... (or Ra)

I like the last one...

But you're right, that theme is a bit difficult...

Oooooo, getting a red male, are we? Your parents will see the light, there's *something* about red males.... you know the mystique surrounding them!

Hmmm...

First thing I could think of was Edge... as in...
Kennelname's Perforated Edge

Teehee!

NRA and I were being great employees today and thinking up litter themes. I'll have to thinkin awhile on this theme!

Thanks guys! I look forward to seeing more suggestions -- for both call names and/or reg. names. They don't have to go together, by the way... though it's always nice when they do!

Sizzle, Edge was one I'd thought of, but no one else really likes it unfortunately.

I liked Gage and Rogan... but the breeder has already had dogs by those names apparently, and likes to try to stay away from repeats.

We (breeder and I) have come up with a short list of possible reg. names, but I'm not sure how much I like any of them:

What a G'rip
Get a G'rip
What a T'rip
Tear it up

And I think there were a few others, but I can't remember them at the moment.

I guess "Tears of the Sun" don't work because its not pronounced the same then, huh?
I'm not sure. I'm staying at the breeder's house right now, to help with the puppies so she can go to work without worrying, so I'll ask her when she gets home tonight. :)

Rogan is the name of a red dog that's doing a lot of winning right now.

Just promise me you won't go with Apollo, Magnum, Zeus.... the stereotypical male dobe names! ;)

How bout...

Kennelname's Road T'Rip - "Rodie" or "Brody"
Kennelname's T'Rip My Trig'R - "Ruger", "Sig", or pretty much any gun name. :)
Kennelname's T'Rip to (city, state, place here - then the place can be the call name)

Thanks Sizzle! And no worries, those aren't for me at all (esp. Magnum... that's the sire's name). I was searching through a name thread on one of the Dobe boards and a lot of them were very stereotypical names... so that didn't help much at all.

Kennelname's Torn Curtain (the name of a Hitchcock movie with Paul Newman). Call name could be Armstrong (Newman's character) or Hitchcock.

Torn Ado - Windy (only if he's a farter)

Rippin It Off - aah; Fabio again

G'rip It N Rip It - Daley (John Daley; King of Swing -- golf that is)

Aghhahgblaykag! A red baby Dobie is going to look unbearably precious with your Toller girls. *squee* :D

I thought of a few "rip" themed names: Slash, Split, Rend, Rivet, Fray

I also think Rhubarb would be a really adorable named for a Red boy. But that's all I got! Pictures would help, I think??!
