We took the pups to Gatlinburg TN two days ago on our way to visit relatives. Sasha absolutely loved downtown Gatlinburg. She let so many people pet her and she just ate up all that attention. There is even a mall there she was allowed to go into. There was a cute little petshop in that mall and she got a Nylabone. Zackie got a collar. And I found a little statue that looked like my Sasha.

Zackie however didn't like Gatlinburg he preferred the Great Outdoors and really enjoyed our day at the Great Smokey Mountains National Park.

Funny thing is the day we got their it was snowing and the next day it was warm and sunny.

Needless to say we all had a good time. (Though needless to say traveling with pets isn't easy and you are rather limited in what you do.....but we are glad we atleast did this with them)

Yeah they really did enjoy it and so did we. I've gone there a lot. Infact my husband and I got married there and we were going to bring Zack with us. But it didn't work out Since then I've wanted to take them.

I don't know that we will do a trip like this with them again. It was a lot of work having to take them everywhere with us and when we have a kid that will be too much work. So we are glad we atleast got to do this. We do however hope to take them to the beach this summer.

Anyone know of any dog friendly beaches near Myrtle Beach SC?

I'm dying to take Sawyer up there...glad you had a good time!
Just know that there are only two trails in the Great Smokey Mountians National Park that allow dogs on them. One is the Gatlinburg Trail and I'm not sure what the other one was because it was closed due to Ice and Snow.

As far as Gatlinburg goes there are very few things the dogs can actually do. But its still fun to walk around with them and yes some of the shops allow the dogs to go in. It used to be a very dog friendly town but not so much anymore. And if you go I do recommend the Red Roof In Gatlinburg if you plan on staying in a hotel. the outside looks very old but the inside was very nice (just remodeled) and very clean.

If you plan on leaving your dogs though you need to stay in a cabin. Its state law now that owners can't leave their dogs in the hotels

Where in Gatlinburg did you go? Was just there on the 7th, and will be going again in May. Would love to be able to bring the dog along!
