For my own sanity Sawyer gets two walks a day. One at the begining of our day. That ranges weather permitting from 45 minutes- 2 hours. It just depends on how nice the weather is. And then one in the evening that usually just 30 minutes. And now that there isn't snow on the ground we have been going out back and playing fetch for about an hour everyday.

Maggie doesent go for walks daily.

How about your dogs?

Sorry to say I haven't !!! I really need to get my neighbor to walk with me !! Ollie is good walking , but if he decided to take off after something I'd fly flat on my face !!! We both need to walk !

Not that often. There doing alot of construction on the road I usually walk on (that I don't have to drive too) so we haven't walked in a month or two on a regular basis.

Since Baseball/Softball season is starting up I've taken Blaze (and Lizzie once she gets her rabies shot update) walking in the park/lake area.

Zack and Sasha usually get a 45 minute walk around the apartments every day.

That being said. 3 times a week we go for a 3 to 4 mile walk along the Greenway around the city. And that does them pretty good.

But we also play a lot and we let them loose in my relatives yard to play with other dogs and we play fetch and tug rope.....man can my sasha pull.....she pulled me out of the bean bag chair when we were playing tug a war.

We play fetch and we run.

So even though walks aren't always long we do other things as well (sometimes they get two 45 minute walks a day)

all depends on weather

At home, they get no walks. At school Summer gets 2 walks a day. One is short about 15 minutes around the complex, the other is long (1 1/2- 2 hours) and at a park or on campus so very busy. I love walking her there.

At home, they get a good couple hours of play time in the back yard. We have acreage so they get to run as fast as they want and play with each other. Basically the rest of the day they're either asleep or wrestling with each other or playing fetch.

No matter where we are, we do a lot of mental games, trick training, and obedience/agility practice. They enjoy learning new things much more than walking. It took me 2 hours this morning to go over everything with everyone.

Off the property... almost never.

We have 15 acres, 13 of which is the horse pasture. I take them out at least once a day, but usually twice, in decent weather (i.e., not pouring rain or sleeting) and we walk to the back of the horse pasture.

Ideally, Happy gets 2-3 walks a day, ranging from half an hour to an hour, and then maybe one, two, or three trips to the dog park a week.

Mine get two 45 minute walks a day, plus some off leash run time. Living in an apartment exercise is crucial for my sanity.

nanook goes for about 6 15 minute free runs a day. chases the ball out back... chases rabbits. THen back in. 3 or 4 times a week we go for about a 1 - 2 hour hike. Sometime a little more challenging. She could use more but that's all we seem to manage. When the rain stops i have lots of hikes in mind while steve is here

Depends on the weather and my health. IF i feel like crap they free run in the valley because i can sit in the car and watch them. If it is a good day they get a walk. IF it is cold or raining they can tough it out.

There is a hike that I want to do. 15 min drive to the trail head. 15 minutes to the suspension bridge and 90 mins to a lake. I really want to go but I don't think Nanook will go over the bridge

has anyone taken their dogs over a suspension bridge?

Forgot to add that we've got about an acre of fenced backyard for the dogs. And some of the dogs enjoy running offleash way more than walking on a lead.

Every single day the Dobes get out and about. We live on over an acre. But we take them off the property often for hiking and socialization. We just got back today from letting them run in a track area. They keep us in good shape. We bike, hike, walk, play ball, and generally just have a lot of fun together.

we rarely go for walks. i have chronic problems with loose, unattended dogs in my neighborhood and it's too stressful and risky. sometimes we'll go hiking in the woods (but then there's ticks to contend with. ugh!) or go walk out at the lake where there is actually a park warden who enforces the leash law. most of their exercise is at home or in my parents' much larger fenced in yard.

Not to give the idea that poor Ollie is yard bound .... we have a very large unfenced front yard ( back yard is fenced ) on a VERY quiet one lane street . Ollie knows the boundries and goes out front ( with me )at least 2 or 3 times a day off leash and has a good run . I always check before we go out and there are rarely stray dogs or people out .

I try to get him out atleast every second day for atleast 45 minutes. His DA means we have to limit the places/times we can go, thankfully he doesn't bounce off walls when not taken out enough.
I was also taking him for a 30 minute jog every second day except he's developed a limp so until I get him to the vet, I'm not running him.

We also have a huge fenced backyard that we cycle them around in all day.

I have two dogs and take them outside for "play time" about 5 days a week for 30 to 45 minutes, sometimes longer, sometimes not as long, depending on the weather and how I'm feeling.

The older dog doesn't like to run much but just likes to walk around and explore. The younger dog, a Jack Russell, likes to run and chase rocks that I throw.

I think they would like to go out more often (judging from the way they get excited when they know they're going out), but it isn't possible at this time. Maybe some day . . .
