It arrived today. I've just taken a couple shots so far. Here's one:

Not bad so far I think.

I also got a black busty thing for necklaces. More later... I've got to run. Just wanted to show the first one with the filter.

I thought my screen was dirty too LOL. Good detail and light Sage...almost too good on the detail according to the reactions we took to the lint. I have never used filters for macro, are those Cokin filters? Have you ever tried a bellows or extension tubes? I have used a Nikonos 5 a long time ago that had a macro set with it. It had 3 wire frames and 3 extension tubes. You could use just one or you could stack 2 or 3. The wire frames attached to the camera and there was no focus involved. You just physically put the frame on your subject (or around it) and snap the shot. It gave perfect focus every time. The frames also served as a monopod to stabilize it.

I've got a set of the Cokins. 2x, 3x and 5x if I remember correctly, and being able to stack them really can get you in tight on things. Somewhere, I've got a mini-pod I used to use on the close stuff. Handy if you vibrate as much as I do, lol!

Nice!

What lens do you have it attached to?

I love my old, manual macro lenses. Especially my 55mm f3.5. I cannot WAIT for spring! I'm going to be getting some nifty shots!

oooh, and when I get my new gecko!
Some NICE shots there, I hope.
CANNOT WAIT!

EEEK!

I just have it on a 50 mm. I'd love to get a macro lens but just can't afford it.

My neighbour has one crocus blooming next door lol. But I think I might photograph it :D
