I've been fine tuning my grad certificates and thought I'd share. I have 52 puppies graduating on Sunday and I'm about half done.

Here are the ones that I've finished...and their gift bags. A cookie and the 10 commandments for Dog owners (frameable) goes with them as well...and any prizes they win at the final competitions.

Are they adorable or what?:D

And last but not least - I LOVE every single puppy but I'd be lying if I said that this one hadn't completely stolen my heart - Sweet Tosa Solomen

The white boxer and the brown one are brothers, they're in different classes and are such sweet dogs. The little head tilt picture is Tucker...a total comic in class.:)

I Really wish you lived down here and taught here :(

Adorable pups :D
I wish that I could meet ALL Chaz pups...and have them in class.:D Your dogs are so cute!

That white boxers name is Koda. He and his family will be hiking a lot so they were very concerned about his recall when they called to sign up for class.

With all the bears/deer/elk/yodies on the trail, they needed an ace in their pocket and they worked really hard on his ER...actually all students this time have been just amazing with their practice.

Anyway, I HAVE to get the Emergency Recalls on video this weekend. Koda's ER term is KILLER ELK!!!!! He's so fast it's jaw dropping!!:D

I think the little terrier is cute... (second pic, dog in center.)
That's a little yorkie named Sadie. Sadie is only 15 weeks old and has such a great little personality. No fear yet no small dog complex either. Just a sweet, easy going and confident little dog..with an amazing family who really, really adore her.:)

The classes are 6 weeks, 1 hour - 75 mins/class (it runs over sometimes with questions and playtime). I teach 16 commands/cues, cover all problem solving (nipping/jumping/barking/digging...etc), grooming maintenance, and even a little trick training for our graduation celebration. Oh, and it's a clicker/marker class..:)

Can I ask a daft Q.

If an emergency recall is to get the dog back 1st time every time, shouldn't that be what recall is for anyway? Do you see what I mean.... why have one recall the dog can ignore when they want, or not respond to when you want, and one where they come 1st time?

Why not just have recall - which means - you come here right now?

No, an Emergency Recall is ONLY for those time where a dog is really frightened, going towards a very strong competing motivator or in a situation where you need a response IMMEDIATELY without exception. We hope that our regular recall is going to cut it but often times it simply does not. The ER is your life insurance.

Dogs should always have a great recall. We all know that recalls can loose speed of compliance or go away all together in certain circumstances. The Emergency Recall however is taught in a different way and is therefore a much stronger conditioned response.

Also, an Emergency Recall does not require that the regular recall is solid in order to be jaw droppingly effective. As a matter of fact. I ALWAYS teach the ER in the second class so that I can be sure that by class 6, there's no way the puppies won't be safe in an Emergency.

We all know that regular recall can change as a dog goes through different developmental stages and can take a number of months to be predictable in the presence of certain triggers.

Here's how it's taught :)-

I think I might just look at darkchilds 'ugly fashion" thread and find me a HUGE purse to steal the Tosa. He's sweeter than sweet....and it IS Valentines Day after all!

Everyone really seems to love the white boxer pup. You'll all be happy to know that he has the most wonderful owners. They have worked harder than most on his training and I just know that he's going to be a very happy, well trained and well loved dog. I love it when you see a truly perfect fit.:)
