The farm where we buy hay for our horses has all kinds of animals. We drove in and saw this sheep standing by herself. Drove out a few minutes later and the sheep had company!

There were other new babies all over the place...

And I took a video. I think this one on the right is trying to stand up for the very first time!

My wife's been riding forever and she has three, one of which she competes on (eventing). I had never ridden before, but this horse was staying with two of ours across the street from our house for a while and I just kind of got attached to him. He wasn't holding up to the rigors of eventing, so her previous owner let me take over his care. So I now have my very own horse and I'm taking lessons. Hope to be ready for some trail rides by spring!

Meet Buck!

Awww. I like BUCK! He's pretty. My mom's first horse was an appy named Bo. All those baby sheep! No BC's.... my dogs want to fix that problem ;)

Ohhh congrats... I used to event in my younger days. Went down to the Rolex this year ... loved watching the horses go.

Here is a thread for your wife then... http://chazhound.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75203 hehe she needs to join chaz!!!
Very cool! We were there too! She had gone a few times before but this was my first time and I really enjoyed it. I quite enjoyed Kentucky in general and the Lexington area specifically. I was only in Kentucky once before for the Derby but our hotel wasn't even IN Kentucky so that doesn't really count.

Cool.. did you notice the long haired whippet (it felt like EVERYONE there stopped to pet her) lol!

How far away are you from KY? Are you going to the WEG in 2010?

Sorry, I didn't. At the time I was mentally 'shopping' for my next dog. My German Shorthair was old and aging fast. Dobermans were on my short list and we saw a few fine examples of Dobies. So I was dog distracted.

Anyway, I don't recall, it was a long day of driving but doable. For instance we stuck around that last day to watch the final show jumping before we left for home, so maybe 7 to 8 hours?

I would like to go back for the WEG actually. I got a hat for that event while at Rolex, so I wear that to my wife's events so it looks like I know what I'm doing.

I think it is very likely I'll be there; my friend is planning to try and qualify with her stallion and barring any incidents, should have a really good shot of going. She was very close to qualifying for the Olympic selection trials this year.
