We skipped the PetSmart Santa in favour of the mall Santa this year... because the mall Santa is AWESOME. Real. Santa. I'm telling you.
Auggie tried to give Santa some kisses, also.

Some of the malls by me advertise animal pics with Santa but you use a separate entrance to the mall.

Love the pic!

Only $5 of the $10 you pay at PetSmart goes to PetSmart Charities. I donate FAR more than $5 directly to my local shelter every year, between cash donations and goodies/food I bring to them. They don't see anything from PetSmart Charities... I have no idea where they spend their charity money.

We used a mall entrance that's straight from outside and goes right to where the Santa's Village thing is set up, but there wasn't any rule about which entrance to use as far as I could see... there were dogs FAR bigger than Auggie waiting to have their pics taken, too! Ahead of us was this gorgeous brindle mixed breed, SO pretty and so sweet. I couldn't see her photos, but I'm not sure if she got into Santa's lap, ROFL.

$5 goes directly to the rescue doing the Santa photos. A local rescue/shelter. The whole $5. The other $4.95 pays for the cute acrylic frames you get with the pics. None goes to "Petsmart charities," which I'm sure some goes to the HSUS and what-not.

It's our rescue's biggest fundraiser of the entire year, by far, our Petsmart photos. We get a huge amount of money! It's the rescue volunteers doing the photos, too. Nothing evil about Petsmart Santa photos-- Believe me, I'm the first one to tell you Petsmart Charities is not something you want to donate to...

There is no rescue that does the Santa pics here. It's all PetSmart employees.

I would imagine that the money still goes to the shelter/rescue that has animals in the store. Sometimes there aren't any volunteers that can do photos in the store, but the money still goes to the rescues. I would imagine it works the same way there, unless there are different distric/regional policies... Either way, I totally wouldn't blame you for not going, if it doesn't go directly to the local organizations.
